CHAPTER 52.

An Act to amend the "Local Improvement Act."

IS MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of British Columbia, enacts as follows:

1920, c. 54; 1921, c. 45; 1922, c. 53.

1. This Act may be cited as the " Local Improvement Act Amend- Short title. ment Act, 1923."

2. Subsection (9) of section 40 of the "Local Improvement Act," Amends s. 40. being chapter 49 of the Statutes of 1913, is amended by striking out the word "section" in the seventeenth and eighteenth lines thereof, and substituting therefor the word "subsection."

CHAPTER 53.

An Act respecting the City of New Westminster
Reserves.

[Assented to 21st December, 1923.]

IS MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of British Columbia, enacts as follows:

1. This Act may be cited as "New Westminster Reserves Act, Short title. 1923."

Lands Act (1884) Amendment Act, 1885," or in the "Municipal Act," it shall be lawful for the Corporation of the City of New Westminster, in consideration of the sum of twenty thousand dollars to be paid by His Majesty to the said Corporation, to convey to His Majesty in the right of the Province all the estate, right, title, and interest of the said Corporation in and to all and singular those certain parcels or tracts of land and premises situate, lying, and being in the City of New Westminster and Province of British Columbia, and composed of Lots 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, and 43, in Block "M," as shown on the official plan of the City of New Westminster deposited in the Land Registry Office at New Westminster and there numbered 2620, and also those certain parcels of land and land covered with water situate, lying, and being in the said City of New Westminster, and composed of Water Lots 79, 80, 81, and 82, as shown on the said official plan of the City of New Westminster; excepting and reserving unto the Corporation of the City of New Westminster, its successors and assigns and its agents, servants, and workmen, and all other persons acting for or on behalf of the said Corporation,

a free and uninterrupted right of way, ingress, egress, and regress for persons, animals, and vehicles through, along, and over said Lots 14 and 36 for the purpose of renewing, repairing, and cleaning the existing sewer outfalls now laid down and constructed in and upon the said lots and to keep and maintain the same for the use and convenience of the said Corporation, its successors and assigns, and upon execution and delivery of a deed of conveyance under the corporate seal of the said Corporation the said lands and premises shall vest in His Majesty for an indefeasible estate in fee-simple.

(2.) The said sum of twenty thousand dollars, less any expenses incurred by the Corporation in connection with the preparation or carrying into effect of this Act, shall be applied by the Corporation in reduction of the assessment or assessments imposed or to be imposed under the "Columbia Street Extension Local Improvement Debenture Assessment By-law, 1911," being By-law No. 88 of the City of New Westminster, in such manner as the Council of the Corporation may by resolution determine.

3. Notwithstanding anything contained in the "New Westminster City Lands Act, 1884," or the "New Westminster City Lands Act (1884) Amendment Act, 1885," and notwithstanding any law to the contrary, all sales of any of the lands mentioned in the said Acts heretofore made by the Corporation of the City of New Westminster and evidenced by conveyances registered in the Land Registry Office at the City of New Westminster and the said conveyances are hereby confirmed and declared to be and to have been from and since the execution of the said conveyances respectively good, valid, legal, binding, and effectual to all intents and for all purposes, any law, usage, or custom to the contrary notwithstanding.

CHAPTER 54.

An Act to repeal the "Offensive Weapons Act."

[Assented to 21st December, 1923.]

IS MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the
Legislative Assembly of the Province of British Columbia,

enacts as follows:

1. This Act may be cited as the "Offensive Weapons Act Repeal short title. Act."

2. The "Offensive Weapons Act," being chapter 83 of the Statutes Repeals "Offensive of 1913, is repealed.
