R. And with thy spirit.

Placing a Particle of the Host in the Chalice, he says:

LET

ET this commixture, and the consecration of the Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, be unto us who partake thereof an approach unto everlasting life. Amen.

He covers the Chalice and makes a genuflexion; then bowing down and striking his breast, he says:

THE AGNUS DEI

LAMB of God, that takest away the sins of the world, have mercy upon us.

O Lamb of God, that takest away the sins of the world, have mercy upon us.

O Lamb of God, that takest away the sins of the world, grant us Thy peace.

In Masses for the Dead, instead of 'have mercy upon us', is said twice, 'Grant them rest and lastly, 'Grant them rest eternal'.

LORD Jesus Christ, Who saidst to Thine Apostles, Peace I leave with you, My peace

I give unto you; Regard not my sins, but the faith of Thy Church, and grant unto her that peace and unity which is agreeable to Thy will; Who livest and reignest God for ever and ever. Amen.

LORD Jesus Christ, Son of the living God, Who according to the will of the Father, and by the co-operation of the Holy Ghost, hast by Thy death given life to the world; Deliver me, by this Thy most holy Body and Blood, from all mine iniquities, and from every evil; and make me ever to obey Thy commandments; and suffer me never to be separated from Thee, Who with the Father and the Holy Ghost, livest and reignest, one God, world without end. Amen.

ET the partaking of Thy Body, O Lord Jesus Christ, which I, though unworthy, do presume to receive, turn not to me for judgment and condemnation; but, according to Thy loving-kindness, let it be profitable to me for the receiving of protection and healing, both of body and soul; Who with the Father and the Holy Ghost, livest and reignest one God, world without end. Amen.

I

WILL receive the Bread of Heaven, and call upon the Name of the Lord.

Here the bell is rung, and, striking his breast, he says thrice,

[ORD, I am not worthy that Thou shouldest come under my roof; but speak the word only and my soul shall be healed.

He receives the Sacred Body.

WHA

HAT reward shall I give unto the Lord for all the benefits that He hath done unto me. I will receive the Cup of Salvation, and call upon the Name of the Lord.

I will call upon the Lord, Which is worthy to be praised: so shall I be safe from mine enemies.

He receives the Precious Blood.

[If Communion is to be given he shows the Host to the People, saying,

Behold the Lamb of God, That taketh away the sins of the world. And then thrice, as before,

LORD, I am not worthy, &c.

Those who are to communicate here go up to the Sanctuary rail. The priest descends from the Altar and says:

TH

HE Body of our Lord Jesus Christ, which was given for thee, preserve thy body and soul unto everlasting life. Take and eat this in remem

brance that Christ died for thee, and feed on Him in thy heart by faith with thanksgiving.

HE Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ,

which was shed for thee, preserve thy body and soul unto everlasting life. Drink this in remembrance that Christ's Blood was shed for thee, and be thankful.]

After the Communion the Priest at once consumes whatever remains of the Sacred Body and Blood, and the server (or at High Mass the Sub-deacon) pours first a little wine and then wine and water into the Chalice, and the Priest takes the ablutions.

Then the Priest and People say or sing

THE PATER NOSTER

Hallowed be Thy Name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, As it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation; But deliver us from evil. Amen.

ALMIC

After shall be said as follows. LMIGHTY and everliving God, we most heartily thank Thee, for that Thou dost vouchsafe to feed us who have duly received these Holy Mysteries, with the spiritual food of

the most precious Body and Blood of thy Son our Saviour Jesus Christ; and dost assure us thereby of Thy favour and goodness towards us; and that we are very members incorporate in the mystical body of Thy Son, which is the blessed company of all faithful people; and are also heirs through hope of Thy everlasting kingdom, by the merits of the most precious death and passion of Thy dear Son. And we most humbly beseech Thee, O heavenly Father, so to assist us with Thy grace, that we may continue in that holy fellowship, and do all such good works as Thou hast prepared for us to walk in; through Jesus Christ our Lord, to Whom, with Thee and the Holy Ghost, be all honour and glory, world without end. Amen.

Then the Priest, turning to the People, says or sings:
V. The Lord be with you.
R. And with thy spirit.

Then follow the Post-Communion Collects.
