An Act for granting certain Sums of Money for the
Public Service of the Province of British
Columbia.

HEREAS it appears by Messages from His Honour Walter Preamble. Cameron Nichol, Lieutenant-Governor of the Province of British Columbia, and the Estimates accompanying the same, that the sums hereinafter mentioned in the Schedules are required to defray certain expenses of the Public Service of the Province, and for other purposes connected with the Public Service, for the fiscal years ending the thirty-first day of March, 1925, 1926, and 1927, respectively: May it therefore please Your Majesty that it may be enacted, and be it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of British Columbia, as follows:

1. This Act may be cited as the "Supply Act, 1925."

2. From and out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund there may be Indemnifying paid and applied as set forth in Schedule A a sum not exceeding in the whole one hundred and forty-two thousand four hundred and nineteen dollars and sixty-two cents, to make good certain sums expended for the Public Service of the Province for the fiscal year ended the thirty-first day of March, 1925.

3. From and out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund there may be Supplementary paid and applied as set forth in Schedule B a sum not exceeding in the whole one million five hundred and sixty-five thousand four hundred and sixty-four dollars and seventy-seven cents, to supplement the moneys otherwise appropriated for the Public Service of the Province for the fiscal year ending the thirty-first day of March, 1926.

4. From and out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund there may be paid and applied as set forth in Schedule C a sum not exceeding in the whole eighteen million two hundred and forty-seven thousand and fifty-two dollars and three cents, towards defraying the several charges and expenses of the Public Service of the Province for the fiscal year ending the thirty-first day of March, 1927.

5. Any part of the moneys appropriated by this Act under Schedules B and C which may be unexpended at the end of the fiscal year for which it is appropriated shall not be expended thereafter, except that during such period, not exceeding three months after the end of the fiscal year, as the Lieutenant-Governor in Council may by Order in Council, either before or after the end of the fiscal year, extend the time for finally closing the account of the appropriation comprising the money so unexpended, payment may be made in respect of liabilities and expenses incurred prior to the end of the fiscal year.

6. The said aids and supplies shall not be issued or applied to any purpose other than the purposes for which they are appropriated as set out in said Schedules and in the detailed estimates and votes upon which said Schedules are based, respectively.

7. The due application of all moneys expended under the authority of this Act shall be accounted for to His Majesty.

An Act to amend the "Special Surveys Act."

[Assented to 19th December, 1925.]

IS MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of British Columbia, enacts as follows:

R.S.B.C. 1924, c. 249.

1. This Act may be cited as the " Special Surveys Act Amendment short title. Act, 1925."

2. Section 2 of the "Special Surveys Act," being chapter 249 of Amends s. 2. the "Revised Statutes of British Columbia, 1924," is amended by adding to the definition of "registered" the words "but when used with respect to the ownership of lands held by the Crown includes the Crown whether so registered or not."

3. Said chapter 249 is amended by inserting the word "registered" Insertion of word before the word "owners" where the latter word occurs in section ss. 3, 4, 5, 11, 12, "registered" in 3, clause (h); in section 4, subsection (1), line 12, and subsection 13, 14, 26, and 27. (2), line 11; in section 5, line 3; in section 11, line 22; in section 12, line 3; in section 27, lines 3, 4, and 10; and by substituting the words a registered owner" for the words "an owner" where the latter words occur in section 13, line 10; and by inserting the word "registered" before the word "owner" where the latter word occurs in section 14, lines 6 and 9; in section 26, clause (e), line 3; and in section 27, lines 8, 9, 11, and 13.

The Order of the Lieutenant-Governor in Council, No. 156, approved the twelfth day of February, 1925, made under the "Special Surveys Act" in respect of the special survey of Block 1, Map 1234, Section 28, Lake District, and the Order made by the AttorneyGeneral set out therein and confirmed thereby, and the by-law of The Corporation of the District of Saanich, being By-law No. 335, intituled "A By-law in connection with the Special Survey of Block
