the same becomes payable, all amounts of interest and funded indebtedness then remaining unpaid in respect of that parcel of land shall for all purposes be deemed to be taxes in default in respect of that parcel of land, and with interest from the date of the default in payment, at the rate of eight per centum per annum, shall be recoverable under the provisions of the "Drainage, Dyking, and Development Act."

8. Nothing in this Act shall in any way affect any guarantee heretofore entered into by the Province for the payment of debentures issued by the Commissioners under the "West Nicomen Dyking District Aid Act," being chapter 100 of the Statutes of 1918.

9. The "West Nicomen Dyking District Tax Adjustment Act," being chapter 75 of the Statutes of 1923, is repealed.

An Act to amend the "West Vancouver Incorporation 1912, c. 60: 1920,

Act."

IS MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of British Columbia, enacts as follows:

c. 104; 1922, c. 84.

1. This Act may be cited as the "West Vancouver Incorporation Short title. Act Amendment Act, 1925."

2. Section 2 and Schedule B of the "West Vancouver Incorpora- Amends s. 2. tion Act Amendment Act, 1920," being chapter 104 of the Statutes

of 1920, are repealed, and the lien or charge therein referred to is released.

3. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in the Sinking fund. by-law, the moneys required for interest and sinking fund for "The West Capilano District Loan Improvement By-law, 1911," debentures shall hereafter be levied and raised in each year by the Council of the Corporation of the District of West Vancouver by a special rate or tax from and out of all taxable lands within the said District of West Vancouver according to the assessed value, which special rate or tax shall be payable along with and in addition to and as forming part of the annual taxes payable for and out of the said lands.

4. Sections 5 and 7 of said chapter 104 are repealed.

An Act to amend the "Workmen's Compensation Act." R.S.B.C. 1924,

IS MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of British Columbia, enacts as follows:

c. 278.

1. This Act may be cited as the "Workmen's Compensation Act Short title. Amendment Act, 1925."

2. Section 7 of the "Workmen's Compensation Act," being chapter Amends s. 7. 278 of the "Revised Statutes of British Columbia, 1924," is amended by adding to subsection (2) the words "Provided that where the disability is of more than fourteen days' duration compensation shall be payable from the date of disability."

3. Section 16 of said chapter 278 is amended as follows:—
(1.) By striking out the words "twelve dollars and fifty cents"
in the second and third lines of clause (c) of subsection (2), and
substituting therefor the words "fifteen dollars"; and by striking
out the word "fifty" in the fifth line of said clause (c), and sub-
stituting therefor the word "sixty."

(2.) By adding to subsection (2) the following clause:-
"(g.) Where the workman leaves no widow, or the widow sub-
sequently dies, and it seems desirable to continue the
existing household, and where an aunt, sister, or other
suitable person acts as foster-mother in keeping up such
household and taking care of and maintaining the children
entitled to compensation in a manner which the Board
deems satisfactory, the person acting as foster-mother
shall, while so acting, be entitled to receive, until the
children reach the age of sixteen years, the same monthly
payments of compensation for herself and the children

as if she were the widow of the deceased; and in such case the children's part of such payments shall be in lieu of the monthly payments which they otherwise would have been entitled to receive."

4. The amendments to said chapter 278 enacted by this Act shall come into operation on the first day of January, 1926.
