AN ACT to continue the operation of certain provisions in the Second Schedule to the Stamp Act, 1921, relating to duty on Conveyances on the sale of Property.

E it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

1. This Act may be cited as the Stamp Act Amendment Short title. Act, 1926.

2. The second schedule to the Stamp Act, 1921 (as Amendment of amended by the Stamp Act Amendment Act, 1925), is hereby further amended by the substitution in lines nine and thirty respectively of the item commencing with the words "Conveyance or transfer on the sale of property,' of the figures 1928" in place of the figures 66 1927."

AN ACT to apply out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund the sum of Eight Hundred and Fifty Thousand Pounds, and from Moneys to Credit of the General Loan Fund Five Hundred Thousand Pounds, and from Moneys to Credit of the Government Property Sales Fund Ten Thousand Five Hundred Pounds, and from Moneys to Credit of the Land Improvement Loan Fund Three Thousand Pounds to the Service of the Year ending 30th June, 1927.

MOST GRACIOUS SOVEREIGN,

E, Your Majesty's Most Dutiful and Loyal Subjects, the Members of the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia in Parliament assembled, towards making good the supply which we have cheerfully granted to Your Majesty in this Session of Parliament, have resolved to grant unto Your Majesty the sum hereinafter mentioned, and do, therefore, most humbly beseech Your Majesty that it may be enacted: And be it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows :--

1. There shall and may be issued and applied for or towards making good the supply granted to His Majesty for the service of the year from 1st July, 1926, to 30th June, 1927, the sum of Eight Hundred and Fifty Thousand Pounds out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund, and from Moneys to Credit of the General Loan Fund Five Hundred Thousand Pounds and from Moneys to Credit of the Government Property Sales Fund Ten Thousand Five

Hundred Pounds and from Moneys to Credit of the Land Improvement Loan Fund Three Thousand Pounds, and the Treasurer of Western Australia is hereby authorised and empowered to issue and apply the Moneys authorised to be issued and applied.

2. The said sums shall be available to satisfy the war. rants under the hand of the Governor, under the provisions of the law now in force, in respect of any Services voted by the Legislative Assembly during the financial year ending 30th June, 1927, or issued for such purposes.

BROOME LOAN

VALIDATION.

AN ACT to render valid a certain Loan raised by the
Broome Road Board.

E it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by Band with the advice and consent of the Legislative

Council and Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

1. This Act may be cited as the Broome Road Board Loan Validation Act, 1926.

2. (1) The loan of ten thousand pounds proposed to be contracted by the Broome Road Board by a notice published in the Gazette on the fifth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-five, shall, as regards the sum of seven thousand pounds already raised, and as regards the balance when raised, be lawful and binding on the said Road Board, notwithstanding that the provisions of Part VII. of the Road Districts Act, 1919, were not, in some respects, complied with.

(2) All debentures which have already been, or which may hereafter be issued in respect of such loan, shall be a valid security for the repayment thereof, notwithstanding that some of the said debentures are redeemable in fifteen years in lieu of thirty years as stated in the said notice.

LAND TAX AND INCOME TAX.

AN ACT to impose a Land Tax and an Income Tax.

MOST GRACIOUS SOVEREIGN,

E, Your Majesty's most dutiful and loyal subjects, Preamble. the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia in Parliament assembled, towards raising the necessary supplies to defray Your Majesty's public expenses, and making an addition to the public revenue, have freely and voluntarily resolved to give and grant unto Your Majesty the duties hereinafter mentioned, and do therefore most humbly beseech Your Majesty that it may be enacted: And be it therefore enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

1. This Act may be cited as the Land Tax and Income Short title. Tax Act, 1926.

2. For the year ending the thirtieth day of June, One thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven, there shall be charged, levied, collected, and paid for the use of His Majesty, under and subject to the Land and Income Tax Assessment Act, 1907, and the Acts whereby that Act is amended, and in manner therein prescribed

(1) A land tax at the rate of twopence for every pound sterling of the unimproved value, as assessed by or under the said Acts, of all land chargeable with such tax:
