their own country another way. 13 And when they were departed, behold, the angel of

the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou there until I bring thee

word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy 14 him. When he arose, he took the young

child and 15 his mother by night, and departed into Egypt: and

was there until the death of Herod : that it might be

fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, 16 saying, mOut of Egypt have I called my son. 1 Then m Hos, 11.1.

Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according

to the time which he had diligently enquired of the 17 wise men. Then was fulfilled that which was spoken 18 by n Jeremy the prophet, saying, In Rama was there n Jer. 31.15.

δε ο Ιησούς είπε προς αυτόν, "Αφες άρτι» ούτω γαρ πρέ

πον έστιν ημίν πληρώσαι πάσαν δικαιοσύνην. τότε αφίη16 σιν αυτόν. Και βαπτισθείς ο Ιησούς ανέβη ευθύς από το

ρας τεσσαράκοντα και νύκτας τεσσαράκοντα, ύστερον επεί3 νασε. και προσελθών αυτώ ο πειράζων είπεν, Ει υιός εί 4 του Θεού, είπε ίνα οι λίθοι ούτοι άρτοι γένωνται. Ο δε αποκριθείς είπε, Γέγραπται, Ουκ επ' άρτω μόνω ζήσεται άνθρωπος, αλλ' επί παντί ρήματι εκπορευομένω διά στό5 ματος Θεού. Τότε παραλαμβάνει αυτόν ο διάβολος εις
