An Act to amend the Education Act, 1915, and for other purposes.

E it Enacted by the Governor of the State of South Australia, with the advice and consent of the Parliament thereof, as

follows

1. (1) This Act may be cited alone as the "Education Act Short titles. Further Amendment Act, 1923."

(2) The Education Acts, 1915 and 1916, the Education Act Further Amendment Act (No. 2) 1919, the Education Act Further Amendment Act, 1919, and this Act may be cited together as the "Education Acts, 1915 to 1923."

(3) The Education Act, 1915, is hereinafter referred to as "the principal Act."

2. This Act is incorporated with the other Acts mentioned in Incorporation with section 1 of this Act, and those Acts and this Act shall be read as other Acts. one Act.

3. Section 60 of the principal Act is amended by inserting after Amendment of 1223 the word "absence" in subdivision xxI. of subsection (1) thereof of 1915, s. 60Regulations may prothe passage (including leave of absence for the purpose of or on vide for various kinds account of recreation, sickness, illhealth, or pressing necessity, and of leave of absence. also accumulated and long leave of absence)".

4. Notwithstanding

Long leave of absence provisions of Public Service Act not to apply to teachers.

Education Act Further Amendment Act.-1923.

4. Notwithstanding anything contained in the Public Service Act, 1916, the provisions of section 68 of that Act shall not apply to any teacher appointed under the principal Act.

An Act to Provide for an Increased Annual Grant to the University of Adelaide, and to Exempt the said University from Payment of Land Tax,

E it Enacted by the Governor of the State of South Australia, with the advice and consent of the Parliament thereof, as follows:

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the "Adelaide University Act Short titles. Amendment Act, 1923."

(2) The Adelaide University Acts, 1874 to 1911, and this Act may No. 20 of 1874. be cited together as the "Adelaide University Acts, 1874 to 1923."

(3) The Adelaide University Act, 1874, is hereinafter referred to

2. This Act is incorporated with the other Acts mentioned in Incorporation with section 1 of this Act, and those Acts and this Act shall be read as one Act.

3. Section 15 of the principal Act is amended by striking out the word "Ten" in the last line thereof and substituting in lieu thereof the word "Twenty ".

4. Notwithstanding anything contained to the contrary in any University to be Act or rules or regulations made thereunder, all land in respect of exempt from Land which

which the University of Adelaide, or any person as trustee therefor, would, but for this section, be liable to pay tax to the State of South Australia, shall from and after the passing of this Act be exempt from taxation by the said State.

E it Enacted by the Governor of the State of South Australia, with the advice and consent of the Parliament thereof, as

follows:

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the "Adelaide Sewers Act Short titles. Further Amendment Act, 1923."

(2) The Adelaide Sewers Acts, 1878 to 1919, and this Act may be

cited together as the "Adelaide Sewers Acts, 1878 to 1923."

(3) The Adelaide Sewers Act, 1878, is hereinafter referred to as No. 106 of 1878. "the principal Act."
