PREFACE. In this work, which I have written principally for the use of students, and in order to assist them in their examinations, I have endeavoured to show as concisely as possible the procedure relating to indictable offences. I have also shortly referred to and explained some of the principal rules and maxims of the Criminal Law,-also will be found in this work a short treatise on the law of evidence particularly applicable to criminal cases.
