3. Section 4 of the said Act respecting the City of 1918-19, c. 90,. Prince Albert is amended by striking out the words amended "and such debentures, stock or other securities countersigned by the minister of municipal affairs" in the eighth, ninth and tenth lines, and the words "and debentures are countersigned" in the twelfth line, and it is declared that it shall not be necessary for the minister of municipal affairs to countersign any such debentures or securities issued pursuant to any such bylaws.

4. City of Prince Albert Consolidated Debenture Consolidated Stock, Prince Albert Protestant Public School District stocks No. 3. of Saskatchewan Consolidated Debenture Stock, a and Prince Albert Separate School District No. 6 of Saskatchewan Consolidated Debenture Stock, issued and to be issued under the authority of and pursuant to the said bylaws and agreements are and shall be legal, valid and binding upon the said City, Public School Board and Separate School Board respectively, and it shall not be necessary for any holder or purchaser of the said stock to inquire into the validity thereof, and no irregularity or defect in the form or substance of the said City of Prince Albert Consolidated Debenture Stock, Prince Albert Protestant Public School District No. 3 of Saskatchewan Consolidated Debenture Stock, and Prince Albert Separate School District No. 6 of Saskatchewan Consolidated Debenture Stock issued under the authority, aforesaid shall render the same invalid or be allowed as a defence to any action or proceeding for the recovery of the amount thereof or the interest thereon or any part thereof.

CHAPTER 89

An Act concerning the Village of Gainsboro.

[Assented to February 4, 1920.]

HEREAS by proclamation of His Honour the Preamble Lieutenant Governor in Council, dated May 25, 1894, the village of Gainsboro was incorporated with area described as follows:

"Commencing at a point on the west boundary of section thirty-three (33), township two (2), range thirty (30), west of the first meridian, distant eighty (80) rods southerly from the north-west angle of said section, thence easterly on a course parallel with the north boundary of said section, one hundred and sixty (160) rods, thence north on a course parallel with the said west boundary of said section and the west boundary of section four (4), township three (3) in said range, one hundred and sixty (160) rods to a point on the south-west quarter of said section four (4), thence westerly on a course parallel with the south boundary of said section four (4) one hundred and sixty (160) rods, more or less, to the west boundary of said section four (4), thence southerly along said west boundaries of said sections four (4) and thirty-three (33) one hundred and sixty (160) rods, more or less, to the place of beginning;" and

Whereas an order of the minister of municipal affairs, dated June 27, 1913, made the following addition to the arca of the village:

"All that portion of the north-east quarter of section thirty-two (32), township two (2), range thirty (30), west of the first meridian, commonly known as the Elliott addition and registered in the land titles office at Regina as plan No. B4947;" and

Whereas the description of the area of the village as contained in the above mentioned proclamation and order is in error inasmuch as it disregards the jog in the correction line between townships two (2) and three (3), range thirty (30), west of the first meridian, whereby section three (3), not section four (4), of township three. (3) is adjacent to section thirty-three (33) of township two (2) in said range thirty (30), west of the first meridian; and

Whereas the name of the said village is spelled "Gainsborough" by the Post Office Department of Canada, and it so appears in the municipal map of Saskatchewan, and it is expedient to change the name to conform to such spelling:

Now therefore His Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan enacts as follows:

1. The description of the area of the village of Gainsboro, as contained in the said proclamation of May 25, 1894, amended by the said order of June 27, 1913, is hereby corrected to read as follows:

"Commencing at a point on the west boundary of section thirty-three (33), township two (2), range thirty (30), west of the first meridian, distant eighty (80) rods southerly from the north-west angle of said section; thence easterly on a course parallel with the north boundary of said section, one hundred and sixty (160) rods; thence northerly on a course parallel with the said west boundary of said section eighty (80) rods to the southern boundary of the south-cast quarter of section three (3), township three (3), range thirty (30), west of the first meridian, and continuing north parallel with the western boundary of said south-east quarter of said section three (3) eighty rods to a point on said south-east quarter of section three (3); thence westerly on a course parallel with the southern boundary of said section three (3), one hundred and sixty (160) rods, more or less, to a point on the south-west quarter of said section three (3); thence southerly to the north-west angle of section thirty-three (33), township two (2), range thirty (30), west of the first meridian, eighty (80) rods, and continuing southerly along the western boundary of said section thirtythree (33), eighty (80) rods to the place of beginning;

"And that portion of the north-east quarter of section thirty-two (32), township two (2), range thirty (30), west of the first meridian, commonly known as the Elliott addition and registered in the land titles office at Regina as plan No. B4947."

2. The name of the said village is hereby changed from "Gainsboro" to "Gainsborough."

3. The description of the area of the said village as given in this Act shall in so far as it relates to the area of the village at the time of its incorporation, be deemed to be and always to have been the true description of the said area.

CHAPTER 90

An Act to validate and confirm a Certain Action of the Council of the Rural Municipality of Stonehenge No. 73.

HEREAS the council of every rural municipality is empowered by The Rural Municipality Act to pass bylaws providing ways and means for the extermination of such animals as are found to injure or impede agriculture; and

Whereas the council of the rural municipality of Stonehenge No. 73, in the year 1919, purchased a supply of gopher poison and distributed same to the ratepayers of the said municipality; and

Whereas such action of the council was not previously authorised by bylaw as required by The Rural Municipality Act aforesaid; and

Whereas doubts have arisen as to the authority of the council to make the said purchase and distribution; and

Whereas the said council has by its petition prayed that an Act be passed for the purpose of validating and confirming its action as aforesaid; and

Whereas it is expedient to grant the prayer of the said petition:

Therefore, His Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan, enacts as follows:

The action of the council of the rural municipality Action of Stonehenge No. 73, in purchasing and distributing gopher poison to the ratepayers of the said municipality in the year 1919, and paying the cost of same out of the general funds of the municipality, is hereby declared to be and always to have been valid and binding upon the said municipality and upon the ratepayers thereof, and upon all persons and properties affected, anything in any Act or law to the contrary notwithstanding.
