The Congregational Council which met at Boston in the summer of 1865, recommended that be raised to aid feeble churches in erecting houses of worship, and that a col lection be taken up by all the churches of our denomination in behalf of this object, on the 17th of December, the Sab bath preceding Forefather's Day. This sketch of those men, their character, principles and achievements, was prepared for that occasion, and with some additions and omissions, is now printed particularly for distribution among the pastor's own people.
