bound so to attend during a longer period than three years, unless he has failed to reach the prescribed standard within that period.

Every employer who has been given notice under section 5 shall permit the apprentice specified in such notice to attend for instruction at the technical school or schools or class or classes specified in such notice at the hours on the occasions specified in such notice on every occasion specified in such notice on which the school or class is open for instruction.

6. Section 7 of the principal Act is amended by striking out the Amendment of ibid., first ten lines thereof and substituting in lieu thereof the following passage:

7. Subsection (2) of section 16 of the principal Act is repealed.

8. Section 19 of the principal Act is repealed, and the following Repeal of ibid., section is substituted in lieu thereof :

An Act to further amend the Friendly Societies Act, 1919, and for other purposes.

E it Enacted by the Governor of the State of South Australia, with the advice and consent of the Parliament thereof, as

follows:

1. (1) This Act may be cited alone as the "Friendly Societies Short titles. Act Amendment Act, 1921."

(2) The Friendly Societies Act, 1919, and this Act may be

cited together as the "Friendly Societies Acts, 1919 to 1921."

(3) In this Act the Friendly Societies Act, 1919, is referred to as No. 1387 of 1919. "the principal Act."

2. (1) Section 7 of the principal Act is amended by inserting after subdivision IV. of subsection (1) thereof the following sub

An Act to amend the Garden Suburb Act, 1919.

[Assented to, December 7th, 1921.]

E it Enacted by the Governor of the State of South Australia, with the advice and consent of the Parliament thereof, as

follows:

1. (1) This Act may be cited alone as the "Garden Suburb Act Short titles. Amendment Act, 1921."

(2) The Garden Suburb Act, 1919, and this Act may be cited No. 1412 of 1919. together as the "Garden Suburb Acts, 1919 to 1921."

(3) The Garden Suburb Act, 1919, is hereinafter referred to as

"the principal Act."

2. This Act is incorporated with the principal Act, and that Act Incorporation with and this Act shall be read together as one Act.

3. Subsection (2) of section 23 of the principal Act is repealed, principal Act, and the following subsection is substituted therefor:

(2) Upon and from the commencement of this Act the missioner in suburb. suburb shall be deemed to be a Municipality under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1890, and the Commissioner shall be deemed to be the Corporation and the Council of such Municipality, and with respect to the suburb shall have and may exercise and discharge all the rights, powers, authorities, duties, liabilities, obligations, and functions which by the said Act are conferred and imposed upon the Corporation and the Council of a Municipality.
