CREATOR of the radiant light, Dividing day from sable night: Who with the light's bright origin, The world's creation didst begin.

2. Who of the morn and ev'ning ray Mad'st measur'd light and call'd it day: Black night begins to cloud the spheres, Vouchsafe to hear our sighs and tears.

3. Whilst with our crimes we burden'd are, And fall'n a prey to Satan's snare; Whilst fading pleasures us deceive, Let not our souls our bodies leave.

4. Let us at heaven for mercy knock, Let us the gates of life unlock : Whatever's evil let us fly,

And punish past iniquity.

5. Most clement Father, lend thine ear,
Co-equal Son, receive our pray'r:
O holy Spirit, hear our cry,

Who reign all three eternally. Amen.
V. Let my prayer ascend, O Lord,
R. Like incense in thy sight.

is different every Sunday.

The Song of the B. V. Mary, Luke i. 46. MAGNIFICAT anima mea Dominum: 2. Et exultavit spiritus meus: in Deo salutari meo.

Gloria Patri, &c.

The Song of the B. V. Mary, Luke i. 46.

MY soul doth magnify the Lord: 2. And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour. 3. For he hath looked down on his lowly handmaid: for behold from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed. 4. For he who is mighty hath done great things to me: and holy is his name. 5. And his mercy from generation to generation, is shewn to those who fear him. 6. He hath exerted his strength by his own arm: he hath disappointed the proud ones of the designs of their hearts. 7. He hath cast down the mighty ones from the throne: and raised up the lowly ones. 8. He hath filled the hungry with good things: but the rich he hath sent empty away. 9. He hath upholden his servant Israel: being mindful of his mercy. 10. As he promised to our fathers: to Abraham and his seed for ever.

The prayer is the Collect of the day, which being different every Sunday, you may say, Let us pray.

LOOK down, we beseech thee, O Lord, upon this thy family, for which our Lord Jesus Christ did not hesitate to be delivered into the hands of sinners, and to undergo the torment of the cross. Who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the Holy Ghost, one God, world without end. Amen.

A Commemoration of the B. Virgin Mary.

Anthem. O HOLY Mary, succour the miserable, help the faint-hearted, comfort the afflicted: pray for the people, intercede for the clergy, make supplication for the devout female sex; let all be sensible of thy help, who celebrate thy holy commemoration.

V. Pray for us, O holy Mother of God, R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Let us pray.

GRANT, we beseech thee, O Lord God, that we thy servants may enjoy perpetual health of mind and body: and by the glorious intercession of blessed Mary, ever Virgin,

may be delivered from present sorrows, and come to eternal joys, through our Lord Jesus Christ.

A Commemoration of the holy Apostles
Peter and Paul.

Anthem. The Apostle Peter, and Paul the doctor of the Gentiles, were they that taught us thy law, O Lord.

V. Thou shalt establish them rulers over the whole earth.

R. They shall be mindful of thy name, O Lord.

Let us pray.

O GOD, whose right hand raised up St. Peter walking on the waters, that he might not be drowned; and delivered his fellow apostle Paul from the depth of the sea, when he was thrice shipwrecked; mercifully hear us, and grant by the merits of them both we may obtain the glory of eternity.

After High Mass and Vespers, the following V. R. and Prayer, are sung for the Queen.
