Art thou come hither to torment us before the time?" 30 Now there was at some distance from them a herd of many swine feeding. 31 So the demons besought him saying," If thou cast us out, send us into the herd of swine." 32 And he said to them, "Go." And when they were come out, they went into the swine: and, lo, the whole herd ran violently down a precipice into the sea, and perished in the waters. 33 And the herdsmen fled, and went away into the city, and reported all this; and what had happened to the demoniacs. 34 And, lo, the whole city came out to meet Jesus; and having seen him, they besought him to depart out of their territory. CH. CH. [For] verily I tell you, Ye shall not have finished the cities of Israel, till the Son of man come. 24 "A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master. 25 It is enough for the disciple that he be as his teacher, and the servant as his master. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more will they call those of his household! 26 Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, which shall not be revealed; and nothing hidden, which shall not be . known: 27 what I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that proclaim ye upon the house tops: 28 and fear not those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him that is able to destroy both soul and body in Gehenna. 29 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny ? and yet not one of them falleth_[to the ground] without your Father. 30 And even the hairs of your head are all numbered. 31 Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows. 32 "Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, I also will confess him before my Father in heaven. 33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, I also will deny him before my Father in heaven. 34 "Think not that I am come to bring peace on earth : I came, not to bring peace, but a sword. 35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his |
