Vehicles (Licensing) Act.-1925.

THE SCHEDULE

Scale of Licence Fees upon Vehicles.

The licence fee for a vehicle shall be calculated as follows:

(a) If the weight unladen of the vehicle does not exceed 25 cwts. the fee shall be calculated at the rate of 1s. 6d. per cwt. of such weight:

(b) If the weight unladen of the vehicle exceeds 25 cwts. but does not exceed 40 cwts. the fee shall be calculated at the amount of the fee for a vehicle of 25 cwts., plus 3s. 6d. for every cwt. by which the weight unladen of the vehicle exceeds 25 cwts:

(c) If the weight unladen of the vehicle exceeds 40 cwts the fee shall be calculated at the amount of the fee for a vehicle of 40 cwts., plus 6s. 6d. for every cwt. by which the weight unladen of the vehicle exceeds 40 cwts.

In this Schedule the weight of a vehicle shall be calculated to the nearest hundredweight.

An Act to amend the, Audit Act, 1921.

[Assented to, December 24th, 1925.]

E it Enacted by the Governor of the State of South Australia, with the advice and consent of the Parliament thereof, as

follows:

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the "Audit Act Amendment Short titles. Act, 1925."

(2) The Audit Act, 1921 (hereinafter referred to as the "principal No. 1471 of 1921. Act") and this Act may be cited together as the "Audit Acts, 1921

and 1925".

2. (1) Section 6 of the principal Act is amended by striking out the words "Eight Hundred" in the second line thereof and inserting in lieu of those words the words "One Thousand."

(2) The amendment made by this section shall operate from and including the first day of July, nineteen hundred and twenty-five.

3. Section 31 of the principal Act is amended

extent as the Auditor-General or person appointed as
aforesaid shall think fit;";

(d) by inserting the word "and" at the end of paragraph (d) of subsection (2) thereof;

(e) by inserting after paragraph (d) of subsection (2) thereof the following words and paragraph:

"and may, from time to time-

(e) require the Head of any Department of the Public Service to prepare or cause to be prepared a statement showing the quantity and description of all stores, plant, and equipment used or held for the purposes of the said Department;"

(f) by striking out the word "forthwith" in the twenty-fourth line of subsection (2) thereof and by substituting therefor the words "in any case where the Auditor-General thinks fit".

An Act to provide for the Redemption of Public Securities, and for other purposes.

[Assented to, December 24th, 1925.]

HEREAS it is expedient to provide for the redemption of Preamble. certain public securities which become due on or before the fifteenth day of December, nineteen hundred and twenty-six, by the issue of other public securities :

Be it therefore enacted by the Governor of the State of South Australia, with the advice and consent of the Parliament thereof, as follows:

1. This Act may be cited as the "Redemption of Public Short title. Securities Act, 1925."

2. This Act is incorporated with the Inscribed Stock Act 1882, and the Inscription of Stock Amendment Act, 1895, and those Acts and this Act shall be read as one Act.

3. The Treasurer may, from time to time, issue for such amounts as he deems expedient, and sell or exchange, Inscribed Stock, Treasury Bills, or other securities, for the purpose of raising money to redeem Inscribed Stock issued under the provisions of the Acts mentioned in the Schedule to this Act, and respectively falling due on or between the dates set out in such Schedule opposite to the titles of the Acts under the authority of which they were respectively issued, and to the respective aggregate amounts so set out.
