The new Jerufalem comes down,
Adorn'd with fhining grace.
3 Attending angels thout for joy,
And the bright armies fing,

Mortals, behold the facred feat
Of your defcending King.

4 The God of glory down to men
Removes his bleft abode ;

Men, the dear objects of his grace,
And he, the loving God.

5 His own foft hand fhall wipe the tears
From ev'ry weeping eye,

And pains, and groans, and griefs, and fears, And death itself shall die.”

6 How long, dear Saviour, O how long!
Shall this bright hour delay ?

Fly fwifter round ye wheels of time,
And bring the welcome day.

Kingdom of Chrift over all.

REJOICE, the Lord is King,

Your God and King adore;
Mortals give thanks, and fing,
And triumph ever more!
Lift up the heart, lift up the voice,
Rejoice aloud, ye faints, rejoice.

2 Rejoice, the Saviour reigns,
The God of truth and love;
When he had purg'd our ftains,
He took his feat above :

Lift up the heart, lift up the voice,
Rejoice aloud, ye faints, rejoice.
4 His kingdom cannot fail,

He rules o'er earth, and heav'n;
The keys of death and hell
Are to our Jefus giv'n :

Lift up the heart, lift up the voice,
Rejoice aloud, ye faints, rejoice.
He all his foes fhall quell,
Shall all our fins destroy ;
And ev'ry bofom fwell
With pure feraphic joy :
Lift up the heart, lift up the voice,
Rejoice aloud, ye faints, rejoice.
5 Rejoice in glorious hope,
Jefus the judge fhall come,
And take his fervants up

To their eternal home:

We soon shall hear th' archangel's voice,
The trump of God fhall found, rejoice.

Lamb of God bearing away Sin.

I BEHOLD the fin atoning Lamb,
With wonder, gratitude, and love;
To take away our guilt and fhame,
See him defcending from above,

2 Our fins and grief on him were laid
He meekly bore the mighty load;
Our ranfom price he fully paid,

3 To fave a guilty world he dies;
Sinners, behold the bleeding Lamb!
To him lift up your longing eyes,
And hope for mercy in his name.
Pardon and peace thro' him abound;
He can the richeft bleffings give ;
Salvation in his name is found,
He bids the dying finner live.
5 Jefus, my Lord, I look to thee;
Where elfe can helpless finners go?
Thy boundless love fhall fet me free
From all my wretchedness and woe.

Light of the World.

WE now arife, the light is come,

The glory of the Lord appears ;
No more in darkness may we roam,
Expos'd to guilt and many fears.

2 The day fpring glorious from on high,
Beams forth in rightnefs all divine;
Our nightly fears and troubles die,
Whilft we in perfect beauty fhine.
The Godhead's glory rifing bright
On us, in Chrift the heav'nly man,
Declares us perfect in his fight,
Whilft we admire the gracious plan.
4 What e'er we loft, we here regain;
The end of all our toil is come,
Nor fin, nor curfe, doth here remain,
We reft in God, our native home.

5 There in onr nature greatly blest,
And purg'd from ev'ry ill, thro' blood,
Our confcience finds eternal rest,

And answers peacefully to God.

Maker of all Things anew.

WHEN favour'd John beheld
The vifions of the Lord,

With admiration fill'd,

He heard the Father's word
Revealing, what his purpose was,
And what his love fhould bring to pafs.
2 Thus fpake the fov'reign Lord,
Whilft on his throne he fat,

"Hear ye my faithful word;
Behold I will create,

And make all things in love anew:
Write thou thefe words, for they are true."

3 When God had thus declar'd

The fecret of his will,

The man who was prepar'd
His counfel to fulfil,

Emphatically fpake to John,

And faid, "Behold, the work is done :

4 For I the Alpha am,

And the Omega too;

You in this facred name,
The finifh'd work may view :
I, the Beginning and the End
Of all the joys which you attend."

Offices of Chrift.

1 SAGES of ancient letter'd times!
In ev'ry age and diff'rent climes,
For wisdom fam'd among mankind,
Withdraw your thinly fcatter'd rays:
Before the broad o'er pow'ring blaze,
Of the fupreme eternal mind.

2 Mercy's great year in heav'n inroll'd,
By feers fucceeding feers foretold,
Was now with folemn pomp unfeal'd,
Light of the world, Meffiah cáme,
In his almighty Father's name,
And immortality reveal'd.

3 Fill'd with his Father's ftrength he taught i
The dumb in rapture fpeak their thought,
The lame man bounding like the roe;
The blind looks up to heav'n; ftern death
Refigns his fpoil; and from his breath
Fierce demons fhrink to fhades below.

O works of pow'r, O works of love,
Ethereal embassage to prove,
Thefe ev'ry rifing doubt control;
Earneft of love and pow'r more strong,
Which to the fon of God belong,
To heal the mis'ries of the foul..
