CHAPTER 8.

An Act to amend "The Dental Association Act."

[Assented to 31st January, 1905.]

WHEREAS the Manitoba Dental Association has by

its petition prayed that the Acts under which said Association is incorporated should be amended, and it is expedient to grant their prayer,

Therefore His Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, enacts as follows:

1. Sections 4, 5, 9, 11, 14, 16, 17, 18, 19, and subsections (c) and (d) of section 21 of chapter 47 of the Revised Statutes of Manitoba, 1902, are hereby repealed and the following substituted therefor:

One month's notice of each election of directors shall be given by circular by the secretary to each member of the association, provided that any oversight or omission in giving such notice shall not void the election. If for any reason the election of directors shall not be held on the date specified in this Act, it shall be held on such date thereafter as shall be appointed by the directors or by any ten members of the association in writing by a letter addressed to the secretary.

The members of the association may, at any election members not of directors, cast their ballots without being actually pres ent at the place where the election is being held, provided that such ballots shall be sent or handed to the secretary of the association so as to be received by him prior to the hour fixed for the holding of the election. In the event of ballots so sent or handed, they shall be signed by the member of the association voting and shall set forth the names of the candidates for whom such member votes. In the event of any such ballot being marked for more names than there are vacancies, such ballot shall be rejected. Ballots so sent or handed shall be enclosed in an envelope, and shall be so marked on the outside as to indicate that the envelope contains a ballot.

9. The secretary of the association shall publish in The Manitoba Gazette the names of those persons who have been elected members of the board of directors, such publication to be made in the issue of the said Gazette appearing next after the said election shall have been held, or so soon thereafter as the secretary can reasonably cause the same to be published.

2. Section 15, sub-section (b) of section 21 and sections 22 and 25 of said Act are hereby amended as follows:

CHAPTER 9.

An Act to amend "The Land Drainage Act."

[Assented to 31st January, 1905.]
