IN issuing the fourth edition of Patent Laws of the World,' the Council of the Chartered Institute of Patent Agents has deemed it preferable only to reproduce such laws as are at present in force in the various countries, as a reference to the edition of 1899, and to the Supplements thereto and, in the case of the older laws, to Carpmael's Patent Laws of the World,' will enable the differences between existing and previous laws to be ascertained. Considerable care has been given to the translating of foreign laws, but, should inaccuracies or omissions be detected, the Foreign Laws Committee would be pleased to receive particulars thereof. As was the case in 1899, Mr. Ransford, as one of the committee, has given much time and labour to the preparation of the work, and it is due mainly to his energy that the present edition is now published.
