An Act further to amend the Revenue Act, 1905.

SECTION

E it enacted by the Governor, the Legislative Council Enacting clause and House of Assembly, in Legislative Session con

vened, as follows:

'1, sub-section 1.

1. Section one, sub-section one of the Act 12 Geo. V., Amendment of sec. Cap. 34, entitled "An Act further to amend the Revenue Act, 1905," is hereby amended by inserting after the figures 1905," in the eleventh line the words "kerosene oil, gasoline, oil clothes and men's long rubber boots known as knee and hip boots."

2. Section two of the said Act is hereby amended:

(1) by striking out the figures "40" after the words. "when exported in sailing vessels of non-British registryper cwt" and substituting therefor the figures "30."

(2) by striking out the figures "20" in the succeeding item and substituting therefor the figures "10"; and

(3) by striking out the figures "15" after the words. "salt bulk without spreading or airing, N.E.S., per cwt" and substituting therefor the figures "10."

Amendment of sec. 2.

3. (1) Section four of the said Act is hereby amended by Amendment of adding after the words "Kerosene Oil" the words "when sec. 4. imported in bulk and in iron or steel packages.”

(2) Sub-section two of the said section is hereby repealed.

Schedule B.

Date of operation.

4. Schedule B. of the Revenue Act, 1905, as amended by subsequent Acts, is hereby further amended by adding thereto the words following, viz.: "Kerosene Oil, when imported in wooden barrels, together with the package in which the oil is contained."

5. Sections one and two of this Act shall be deemed to have come into effect on the 20th day of May, and sections three and four of this Act on the 13th day of June, 1922.

An Act for Granting to His Majesty certain Sums of money for defraying certain expenses of the Public Service for the Financial Years ending respectively the Thirtieth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and Twenty-two and the Thirtieth day of June, One thousand Nine hundred and Twenty-three and for other purposes relating to the Public Service.

1-$772,056.53 to be expended for
purposes set out in Schedule A.

2-$4,721,555.31 to be expended for
purposes set out in Schedule B.

WHEREAS it appears that the sums hereinafter mention

ed are required to defiay certain expenses of the Public Service of Newfoundland not otherwise provided for, for the Financial Years ending respectively the Thirtieth day of June One thousand Nine hundred and twenty-two and the Thirtieth day of June, One Thousand Nine hundred and Twenty-three and for other purposes connected with the

MAY IT THEREFORE PLEASE YOUR MAJESTY:

That it may be enacted by the Governor, the Legislative Enacting clause. Council and the House of Assembly in Legislative Session convened, as follows:

Schedule A.

1. From and out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund there $772,056.53 to be expended for purshall and may be paid and applied a sum, not exceeding in poses set out in the whole seven hundred and seventy-two thousand and fifty-six dollars and fifty-three cents towards defraying the several charges and expenses of the Public Service of the Colony from the first day of July one Thousand Nine hundred and Twenty-one and the Thirtieth day of June One Thousand Nine hundred and Twenty-two not otherwise provided for and set forth in Schedule A to this Act and also for other purposes in said schedule.

Schedule B.

2. From and out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund there $5,271,555.31 to be expended for purshall and may be paid and applied a Sum not exceeding poses set out in in the whole Five Millions Two Hundred and Seventyone thousand Five hundred and Fifty-five dollars and Thirty-one cents towards defraying the several charges and expenses of the Public Services of the Colony from the First day of July One thousand Nine hundred and Twenty-two and the Thirtieth day of June One Thousand Nine hundred and Twenty-three not otherwise provided for and set forth in Schedule B to this Act and also for other purposes in the said Schedule contained: "Provided that there shall be spent a sum not greater than two-thirds in the case of local, Main Line and Special Grants and Marine Works, and one half in the case of all other votes, up to the Thirty-first day of December One thousand Nine hundred and Twenty-two.''

3. Notwithstanding anything in any Law to the contrary Respecting expenit shall be lawful for the Governor-in-Council, in the case Boards or Councils. of Districts or neighborhoods having local Boards or Councils to authorize the payment at any time after the Thirtieth day of June One thousand Nine hundred and Twenty-two to such Local Boards or Councils of all moneys voted in respect of such Districts or neighbourhoods for Public

Respecting payments of moneys appropriated.

Charities, and Roads, Bridges and Ferries in Schedule B. to this act and all such moneys when paid to them as aforesaid may be expended by such Boards or Councils for such local needs and requirements as the said Board or Council may determine.

4. The moneys hereinafter appropriated shall be paid by the Minister of Finance in discharge of such Warrants as may from time to time be drawn by the Governor for the purpose therein set forth.
