15. (1) A bee range area licence shall confer on the licensee a right to the use by his bees of any trees within one mile of the site of the apiary of such licensee. Such site shall be specified in the licence.

(2) A bee range area licence shall not confer on the licensee any right whatever to enter or remain on any Crown land or any land held by any other person under lease or licence from the Crown.

16. In the event of a lessee of a grazing area or pastoral allotment and licensees applying to the Board to sanction the ringing destroying or cutting down of timber any on land within a bee range area, such applicaany tion shall not be considered by the Board until after at least one month's notice in writing has been given to the licensee of the bee range area.

1. The Voting by Post Act 1900 (except section twenty-four thereof) as amended by the Voting by Post Amendment Act 1900 shall be and the same is hereby continued in full force and effect until the thirty-first day of December One thousand nine hundred and six.

E it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Victoria in this present Parliament assembled and by the authority of the same as follows (that is to say):-

1. This Act may be cited as the Opium Smoking Prohibition Act 1905, and shall come into operation on the first day of May One thousand nine hundred and six.

2. No person shall smoke opium.

3. No person shall sell or deal or traffic in opium in any form suitable for smoking.

4. No person shall prepare or manufacture opium in any form suitable for smoking.

5. No person shall have in his possession order or disposition opium in any form suitable for smoking.

the name and address of the purchaser and every such
entry shall be verified by the signature of such purchaser
and the person making the same.

8. 9. If any member of the police force has reasonable cause to Search for suspect that there is in any house or premises any opium in contravention of this Act or that opium is being smoked therein, he may by special warrant if expressly authorized in writing by the Chief Secretary enter and search any such house or premises and seize and carry away any such opium, and arrest all persons therein found offending against this Act.

All opium seized under this section shall on conviction of the person in whose possession the same was found be forfeited to His Majesty and shall be forthwith destroyed.

10. Any person who offends or aids abets or is privy to offending Penalty. against any of the provisions of this Act shall be liable on conviction to a penalty of not less than Ten pounds or more than Two hundred pounds or to be imprisoned for any term of not less than one month or more than twelve months or to both such penalty and imprisonment.

5 Edw. VII. No. 2005. An Act to amend the Education Act 1901.

E it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Victoria in this present Parliament assembled and by the authority of the same as follows (that is to say):

1. This Act may be cited as the Education Act 1905, and shall be read and construed as one with the Education Acts.

2. Sections four and five of the Education Act 1901 are hereby repealed.

3. (1) The parents of children of not less than six years or more than fourteen years of age shall cause such children (unless there is some reasonable excuse) to attend a State school not less than four times in any week in which the school is open six times, or not less than six times in any week in which the school is open eight times, or not less than eight times in any week in which the school is open ten times.

In this section the word "times" means "school half-days."

(2) In the case of a part-time school any child enrolled in the register of the school shall be required to attend eight times out of any consecutive ten times when the school is open.

(3) Attendance at a school on any school day for two hours before noon or for two hours after noon shall in each case be deemed to be One attendance. One attendance.

(4) Any of the following reasons shall be a reasonable excuse as regards any child :—

(1.) that such child is under efficient and regular instruction in some other manner and is complying with the like conditions of attendance as are prescribed under subsection (1) of section three of this Act with regard to attendance at State schools; or

(II.) that such child has been prevented from attending school by sickness fear of infection temporary or permanent infirmity or any unavoidable cause; or

(III.) that such child is of the age of twelve years and has received a certificate of having been educated up to the standard; or

(IV.) that such child has been excused by a general or particular order of the Minister; or

(v.) that there is no State school which such child can attend within a distance from the residence of such child

(a) if under seven years of age of one mile; or
