CHAPTER 199.

An Act respecting Stock Injured by Railway

[IS MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Alberta, enacts as follows:

Short Title.

1. This Act may be cited as "The Stock Injury Act."

2. In the event of any stock being killed or injured by Notification any railway train the conductor or other person in charge stock killed of the said train shall forthwith notify the nearest station or injured agent of the railroad company upon whose line of railway the accident has occurred and the said agent shall forthwith in case the owner is known or afterwards becomes known to the agent send a notice to the owner stating the date and place of the accident. 3. The agent shall in all cases forthwith post in a public Posting of place and manner in the station house a notice giving a full description of the animal or animals with a statement of the time and place where the animal or animals were killed or injured and such notice shall not be removed for three months unless in the meantime the owner becomes known to the agent. 4. Any person infringing any of the provisions of this Penalty Act shall be liable on summary conviction thereof to a penalty of not more than fifty dollars. [C.O. 1898, c. 83, s. 3.]

CHAPTER 200.

An Act respecting Poisons.

IS MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Alberta, enacts as follows:

1. This Act may be cited as "The Laying of Poison Act."

General Provisions.

2. Except as herein otherwise provided no person shall put out poison in that part of the Province described in the next following section. [1908, c. 19, s. 1.]

3.-(1) In that portion of the Province lying to the north of the fifty-fifth degree north latitude a person may put out poison for the destruction of wolves upon satisfying an officer or constable of the Alberta Provincial Police stationed either at the town of Athabasca or in the portion of the Province in this section mentioned of the necessity or advisability of so doing, and obtaining the written permission of such officer or constable so to do.

(2) Such written permission shall specify the area within which the poison may be set out and shall provide that the poison shall not be placed within one mile of any public road or trail or within two miles of any dwelling house or camp, except it be upon the premises of the applicant. 4. The permission in the last preceding section referred to may be in the form set out in schedule A to this Act, but no such permission shall be given for a longer period than six months in any year. [1908, c. 19, s. 3.]

5.-(1) In that portion of the Province lying to the south of the fifty-fifth degree north latitude no person shall set out poison except upon his own premises, nor shall poison be set out unless it is mixed with grease and placed in a hole or hollow, in a piece of timber or other material, or is placed in a vessel.

(2) Notwithstanding the provisions of the next preceding subsection any person may set out poisoned grain in reasonable quantities and of reasonable strength for the destruction of gophers, either upon his own premises or upon any road allowance or highway, and may enter upon any unoccupied lands adjoining his premises, and set out poisoned grain on such lands for the destruction of gophers thereon.

6. Every person guilty of a contravention of the pro- Penalty visions of this Act shall be liable to a penalty of not more than one hundred dollars on summary conviction.

CHAPTER 201.

An Act to incorporate The Alberta Association of Architects.

IS MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Alberta,

enacts as follows:

Short Title.

1. This Act may be cited as "The Alberta Architects Act." Short title

Continuation of Association.

2. The Alberta Association of Architects, hereinafter Continuation of referred to as "the association" is hereby continued as a

body corporate.

Powers, Government, etc.

3. The said association shall have power-
(a) to acquire and hold all lands and property necessary
in order to carry out the objects of its incorporation,
and to alienate the same at pleasure and to acquire
others; provided that the annual value of the
real estate held at any one time for the actual
use of the association shall not exceed five
thousand dollars;

(b) to sue and be sued, and implead in its corporate

name;

(c) to make and pass by-laws in accordance with
this Act, for the direction and management of
the association; the admission to the study and
practice of the profession of architecture, and
all rules that may be deemed necessary for the
maintenance of the dignity and honour of the
said profession, and alter or amend the same
when deemed advisable; provided that no such
