LAWS OF NOVA SCOTIA RELATING TO THE REVENUE, AND FOR THE PREVENTION OF SMUGGLING. Be it enacted by the Governor, Council, and Assembly, as follows: Duration of Act. 1. This Act shall come into operation on the 1st day of April in the year one thousand eight hundred and sixty-four, and shall continue in force until the 1st day of April next thereafter. Duties. 2. There shall be collected and paid to Her Majesty for the use of the Province, upon all goods brought into this Province, by sea or land carriage, the several duties in currency set forth in figures on the table hereinafter contained, denominated "Table of Duties," opposite the respective articles in such table mentioned, according to the value, number, or quantity of every such article. |
