No. 1. Sir, (or as may be) I hereby propose to execute the works required to be done in the (erection, alteration, or enlargement, as the case may be,) in conformity with, and to the true intent and meaning of the drawings and specification of t'i same, for the sum of

Provided always, that should any of the penalties be incurred by the said
