There shall be provided for the purposes of The Designs and Patent Office Registrar See 52 Vic., Duties in ab sence of Registrar Patent Office Powers and duties of Colonial Secretary transferred Substitution of Patent Office for Office of Colonial Secretary Reading of words 48 Vic. 7 Patent Office-Registrar of Patents, Designs, and Trade Marks Trade Marks Act, 1884,' and the Act intituled An Act to regulate grants of Patents for Inventions in the Colony of Western Australia,' an Office with all requisite conveniences, which shall be called the Patent Office. 2. The Patent Office shall be under the immediate control of an Officer called the Registrar of Patents, Designs, and Trade Marks. 3. Any act or thing directed to be done by or to the Registrar may in his absence be done by or to any officer for the time being in that behalf authorised by the Governor. 4. There shall be a Seal for the Patent Office, and impressions thereof shall be judicially noticed and admitted in evidence. 5. All the powers, duties, privileges, and rights conferred upon or to be done or exercised by the Colonial Secretary, and all acts or things directed to be done by or to the Colonial Secretary under the provisions of either of the Acts aforesaid, or any general rules made under the provisions of The Designs and Trade Marks Act, 1884,' shall be conferred upon and done or exercised by or to the Registrar of Patents, Designs, and Trade Marks; and all applications, notices, documents, matters, and things required by either of the Acts or rules aforesaid to be furnished, given or sent to or left or deposited at the office of the Colonial Secretary, shall be furnished, given, or sent to or left or deposited at the Patent Office. 6.
