The College won the toss, and kept their opponents out until six o'clock, scoring 253; the Oxford gentlemen only making 16 for the loss of one wicket, when rain put a stop to the game, FIRST ELEVEN v. NEXT TWENTY-TWO. This Match was played at Cheltenham College, on May 12th, and resulted in a one innings victory for the Twenty-two, who were lucky in winning the toss and getting a good wicket, the rain that fell between the innings preventing long scoring the Eleven. CHELTENHAM COLLEGE v. LIVERPOOL. Played at Cheltenham College, May 14th and 15th, and ended in a draw much in favour of the College. Wise played a masterly innings, and Strachan's luck seemed to have come at length. Potter's innings, on the Liverpool side, was steadily played. The fielding of the Cheltonians was rather loose. CHELTENHAM COLLEGE v. CITY OF GLOUCESTER. This match was played at Cheltenham College, on May 19th, and resulted in a draw much in favour of the Cheltonians. Wise played with his usual carefulness, and put together his 44 in masterly style. Rain stopped the play about half-past four o'clock in the afternoon. The ground was in first-rate order. CHELTENHAM COLLEGE v. MR. F. S. BULLOCK'S ELEVEN. This match was played at Cheltenham College, on 8th and 9th June, the College winning in one innings, and 122 runs to spare.
