3. The said Act is amended by adding thereto immediately after section 54 the following new section:

"54a. The board shall have jurisdiction over every conover contracts tract or agreement entered into on or after the first day of or agreements May, 1923, between any proprietor of the public utility and any other corporation or person for supplying to the said proprietor, natural gas, or for the transportation, scrubbing, cleansing or otherwise treating natural gas; and thereupon the corporation or person party to any such contract shall for the purposes of this section be deemed to be the proprietor of a public utility so far as relates to the price payable under such contract, and shall so far as last aforesaid be subject to all the provisions of this Act, and upon the application of any person interested the board may by order fix the maximum price which may be charged or paid under any such contract, and the price payable under such contract shall be the price fixed by the board and no other."

Coming into force of Act

4. This Act shall come into force on the day upon which it is assented to.

CHAPTER 40.

An Act to amend The Boilers Act.

(Assented to April 2, 1927.)

HIS MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Alberta,

enacts as follows:

1. This Act may be cited as "The Boilers Act Amend- Short title ment Act, 1927."

2. The Boilers Act, being chapter 191 of the Revised Section 2 Statutes of Alberta, 1922, is amended as to section 2(a) by striking out paragraph (d) thereof and substituting therefor the following:

"(d) 'Department' shall mean the Bureau of
Labour"; and

(b) by striking out paragraph (j) thereof and substi-
tuting therefor the following:

"(j) Minister' shall mean the Minister to whom
the administration of this Act is assigned."

3. Section 37 of the said Act is amended as to subsection Section 37 (2) thereof

(a) by inserting after the words "semi-portable boiler" the words "of less than fifty horse-power"; and

(b) by adding at the end thereof, the words "Where the owner of a portable, traction or semi-portable boiler of fifty horse-power or more, has already paid to the Department the annual license fee for the current year, the Inspector upon the production of the Departmental receipt therefor, or the license number plate for the current year, shall charge a fee for the inspection of such boiler, of the amount of the excess of the inspection fee as prescribed by the Lieutenant Governor in Council, over the said license fee."

"58. Every boiler which carries a working pressure of Supervision twenty pounds or more and which is subject to the provisions

of this Act, shall, during its operation, be in the continuous charge of either an engineer or a fireman certificated under this Act:

"Provided that such engineer or fireman so in charge may absent himself from the boiler room in an emergency for a period not to exceed ten minutes at any one time."

5. This Act shall come into force on the day upon which it is assented to.

An Act to amend The Factories Act, 1926.

(Assented to April 2, 1927.)

IS MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Alberta,

enacts as follows:

1. This Act may be cited as "The Factories Act, 1926, Short title Amendment Act, 1927."

2. The Factories Act, 1926, being chapter 52 of the Stat- Schedule A utes of Alberta, 1926, is amended as to schedule A thereof, by inserting after the words "Oil refineries" the words "Oil and gas well drilling plants and rigs."

3. This Act shall come into force upon a date to be fixed Coming into by Proclamation of the Lieutenant Governor in Council.
