CHAPTER 2.

An Act for Raising Money on the Credit of the
General Revenue Fund of Alberta.

(Assented to April 2, 1927.)

HIS MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Alberta,

enacts as follows:

Province

1. The Lieutenant Governor in Council is hereby author- Authorization ized to raise by way of loan a sum of money not exceeding of loan by two million dollars for any or all of the following purposes, that is to say: for the Public Service; for the covering of any debt of the Province on open account; for paying any floating indebtedness of the Province; for the carrying on of public works authorized by the Legislature; for the satisfaction or discharge of any obligations of the Province; and for such other purposes as may be authorized by the Legislature.

2. The aforesaid sum of money may be borrowed for any Term, term or terms not exceeding fifty years, at such rate of interest as the Lieutenant Governor in Council may determine, and shall be raised upon the credit of the General Revenue Fund of the Province of Alberta and shall be chargeable thereon.

3. This Act shall come into force on the day upon which Coming into it is assented to.

CHAPTER 3.

An Act to amend The Legislative Assembly Act.

(Assented to April 2, 1927.)

HIS MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Alberta,

enacts as follows:

1. This Act may be cited as "The Legislative Assembly Short title Act Amendment Act, 1927."

2. The Legislative Assembly Act, being chapter 3 of the Section 10 Revised Statutes of Alberta, 1922, is amended as to section 10, subsection (1), by striking out the words "or to the member occupying the recognized position of leader of the opposition, in the Legislative Assembly" and substituting therefor the words "or to any member to whom, as the recognized leader of any party or group of members, any special allowance is paid pursuant to a resolution of the Legislative Assembly."

3. The schedule to the said Act is amended by striking Schedule out the Electoral Division of Edmonton, and the description thereof, and substituting therefor the following:

"EDMONTON-Commencing at the point of intersection of New boundthe north boundary of Section 19, Township 53, Range 23, Electoral West of the 4th Meridian, with the North Saskatchewan Edmonton River; thence west along the north boundary of Section 19, Township 53, Range 23, West of the 4th Meridian, and the north boundaries of Sections 24, 23, 22, 21, 20 and 19, in Township 53, Range 24, West of the 4th Meridian; and the north boundaries of Sections 24 and 23, Township 53, Range 25, West of the 4th Meridian; to the quarter section corner on the north boundary of Section 23, Township 53, Range 25, West of the 4th Meridian; thence south along the line between the east and west halves of Sections 23, 14, 11 and 2, Township 53, Range 25, West of the 4th Meridian, and the line between the east and west halves of Sections 35, 26 and 23, Township 52, Range 25, West of the 4th Meridian, to the point of intersection of the line between the east and west halves of Section 23, Township 52, Range 25, West of the 4th Meridian, with the North Saskatchewan River; thence south and up stream along the said North Saskatchewan River to its point of intersection with the north boundary of Section 11, Township 52, Range 25, West of

the 4th Meridian; thence east along the north boundary of Sections 11 and 12, Township 52, Range 25, West of the 4th Meridian, and of Sections 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12, in Township 52, Range 24, West of the 4th Meridian, to the north-east corner of Section 12, Township 52, Range 24, West of the 4th Meridian; thence north along the meridian line between Ranges 23 and 24, West of the 4th Meridian to its point of intersection with the left bank of the North Saskatchewan River; thence north-easterly and down stream along the said North Saskatchewan River to the point of commencement."

4. This Act shall come into force on the day upon which it is assented to.
