26. The Call of Simon and Andrew, and likewise
of James and John; with the Miracle which preceded it.
And it came to pass, that, as the

Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, “ Launch out into the deep, and let “ down your nets for a draught.” and Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net. And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes; and their net brake." And they beckoned unto their partners which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink. When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord, For le was astonished, and all that were with him, at the drauglit of tic fishes which tliey had taken: and so was also James and John, the sons of Zebedee, which were partners with Simon.

27. Jesus in the Synagogue at Capernaum heals a
And they went into Capernaum;
Place. and straightway on the sabbath day Capernaum he entered into the synagogue, and taught. And they were astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one that had authority, and pot as the scribes.
And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he cried out, saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth ? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God. And Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Hold thy peace, and come out of “ him.” And when the unclean spirit had torn him, and cried with a loud voice, he came out of him. And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority commandeth he even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him. And

28. Peter's wife's mother, and many others are
healed. Jesus, attended by some of his disciples, teaches and works miracles throughout Galilee.
And when Jesus was come into Peter's house, he saw his wife's mother laid, and sick of a fever. And he came and took her by the hand, and lifted her up; and immediately the fever left her, and she ministered unto them.
And at even, when the sun did set, they brought unto him all that were diseased, and them that were possessed with devils. And all the city was gathered together at the door. And he healed many that were sick of divers diseases, and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses. And in the morning, rising up a

29. Jesus heals a leper.
And it came to pass, when he was
