PSALMS AND CANTICLES.

Psalm xciv.

Come, let us praise the Lord with joy; let us joyfully sing to God our Saviour. Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise to him with psalms.

For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods.

For in his hand are all the ends of the earth, and the heights of the mountains are his.

For the sea is his, and he made it; and his hands formed the dry land.

Come, let us adore and fall down; and weep before the Lord that made us.

For he is the Lord our God and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand.

To-day, if you shall hear his voice, harden not your hearts:

As in the provocation, according to the day of temptation in the wilderness; where your fathers tempted me, they proved me and saw my works.

Forty years long was I offended with that generation; and I said, These always err in heart.

And these men have not known my ways; so I sware in my wrath, that they should not enter into my rest.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost.

As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Psalm xcix.

Sing joyfully to God, all the earth; serve the Lord with gladness.

Come in before his presence with exceeding great joy.

Know ye that the Lord he is God; he made us, and not we ourselves.

We are his people, and

the sheep of his pasture. Go ye into his gates with praise, and into his courts with hymns, and give glory to him.

Praise ye his name, for the Lord is sweet; his mercy endureth for ever, and his truth to generation and generation. Glory, &c.

Psalm cii.

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and let all that is within me bless his holy

name.

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and never forget all that he hath done for thee. Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases.

Who redeemeth thy life from destruction: who crowneth thee with mercy and compassion.

Who satisfieth thy desire with good things; thy youth shall be renewed like the eagle's.

The Lord doth mercies and judgment for all that suffer wrong.

He hath made his ways known to Moses; his wills to the children of Israel.

The Lord is compassionate and merciful; long-suffering, and plenteous in mercy.

He will not always be angry; nor will he threaten for ever.

He hath not dealt with us according to our sins, nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.

For according to the height of the heaven above the earth, he hath strength

ened his mercy towards them that fear him.

As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our iniquities from us.

As a father hath compassion on his children, so hath the Lord compassion on them that fear him.

For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.

The days of man are as grass; as the flower of the field, so shall he flourish.

For the spirit shall pass in him, and he shall not be; and he shall know his place no more.

But the mercy of the Lord is from eternity, and unto eternity, upon them that fear him.

And his justice unto children's children, to such as keep his covenant, and are mindful of his commandments to do them.

The Lord hath prepared his throne in heaven: and his kingdoms shall rule over all.

Bless the Lord, all ye his angels; you that are mighty in strength, and execute his word, hearkening to the voice of his orders.

Bless the Lord, all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his that do his will.

Bless the Lord, all his

Psalm I will praise thee, O Lord, with my whole heart; for thou hast heard the words of my mouth.

I will sing praise to thee in the sight of the angels; I will worship towards thy holy temple, and I will give glory to thy name.

For thy mercy and for thy truth; for thou hast magnified thy holy name above all.

In what day soever I shall call upon thee, hear me; thou shalt multiply strength in my soul.

Let all the kings of the earth give glory to thee, O Lord; for they have

works, in every place of his dominion; O my soul, bless thou the Lord. Glory, &c.

heard all the words of thy mouth.

And let them sing in the ways of the Lord, for great is the glory of the Lord.

For the Lord is high and looketh on the low; and the high he knoweth afar off.

If I shall walk in the midst of tribulation, thou wilt quicken me: and thou hast stretched forth thy hand against the wrath of mine enemies; thy right hand hath saved me.

The Lord will repay for me. Thy mercy, O Lord, endureth for ever: 0, despise not the works of thy hands. Glory, &c.

Alleluia.

vens praise the name of the Lord.

For he spoke, and they were made: he commanded, and they were created.

He hath established them for ever and for ages of ages: he hath made a decree, and it shall not pass away.

Praise the Lord from the earth, ye dragons and all ye deeps.
