BIBLE READINGS

ASK, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall

find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For everyone that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will be give him a serpent? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask Him? (Matt. vii:7-11.)

AGAIN I say unto you, that if two of you shall

agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father who is in heaven (Matt. xviii:19).

YE

E are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people (2 Cor. vi:16).

MY

Y God will supply all your own needs from his wealth in glory in Christ Jesus (Phil.

iv:19).

Έ

WE glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribu

lation worketh patience; and patience, character; and character, hope; and that this hope never disappoints; because the love of God floods our hearts by the Holy Spirit which is given unto us. (Rom. v:3-5.)

I

THEREFORE, the prisoner of the Lord, beg of you to live a life worthy of your calling, with perfect modesty and gentleness, showing forbearance to one another, patiently zealous in love to preserve the unity of the Spirit, by binding peace upon yourselves. (Eph. iv:1-3.) · And it is to this you were called: because Christ also suffered on your behalf, leaving you an example, so that you should follow in his steps. He never sinned, and no deceitful language was ever heard from his mouth. When He was reviled, He did not answer with reviling; when He suffered, He uttered no threats; but left His wrongs in the hands of the righteous Judge. (1 Pet. ii:21-23.) Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful. (Lu. vi:36.) If thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother has any grievance against thee, leave thy gift there before the altar, go and make friends with thy brother first, and then return and offer thy gift. (Matt. v:23, 24.) Love your enemies . . . and pray for your persecutors, that so you may become true sons of your Father in Heaven. (Matt. v:44-45.)

I

LIVED without law. The commandment came. The command gave an impulse to sin. The law is spiritual. I am a creature of flesh and blood. That which I do I cannot understand. For the good which I would I do not, but the evil I detest, that I do. I know that in me (that is in my lower nature) dwelleth no good thing. For the wish is present with me, but the power to do that which is right is not. Against my will I do wrong. I delight in the law of God in my mind. In my members I see another law, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity. O miserable wretch that I am! Who shall deliver me? God through Jesus Christ! Thanks be to him, through Jesus our Lord, there is no doom. The Spirit of life sets me free! (Rom. vii:14 to viii:2.)

L

ET us hold fast our profession. For we have not

an high priest who is not able to feel for us in our weaknesses; but was tempted in every respect just as we are tempted, yet did not sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of love, that we may obtain mercy and find spiritual strength in time of need. The love of God floods our hearts by the Holy Spirit which is given unto us. Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought. The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, good-temper, kindliness, generosity, good faith, gentleness, self-control; against such there is no law. (Heb. iv:14-16, Rom. v:5, viii:26, Gal. v:22, 23.)

HEN shall the King say unto them on his right

the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was an hungered, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer Him, saying, Lord, when saw we Thee an hungered, and fed Thee? or thirsty, and gave Thee drink? when saw we Thee a stranger, and took Thee in? or naked, and clothed Thee? or when saw we Thee sick, or in prison, and came unto Thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me (Matt. xxv:34-40).

JUD

UDGE not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and behold, a beam is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye (Matt. vii:1-5).

THOU that hearest prayer, unto thee shall all

flesh come.
