ALMIGHTY God, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Maker of all things and Judge of all men, we acknowledge and bewail our manifold sins and wickedness, which we, from time to time, most grievously have committed, by thought, word, and deed, against Thy divine Majesty, and especially during the past day, provoking most justly Thy wrath and indignation against us. We have not duly hearkened to the word of Thy salvation; we have resisted the motions of Thy Holy Spirit, and have lightly esteemed the precepts

and ordinances which Thou hast given for our perfection. We have not been unto all men the living epistle of Christ, but we have been ashamed of Thee.
