enter into Thy courts with joy: enable us to offer unto Thee acceptable service, and to worship Thee who art a Spirit, in spirit and truth; give us grace to attend to the words of exhortation and instruction which Thou shalt speak to us through Thine ordained servants, and to receive with meekness Thy word, that we may profit and grow thereby. Hear us, we beseech thee, for the sake of Jesus Christ, our Lord and only Saviour. Amen.

O Lord, who lovest all men, cause the light of Thy unchangeable wisdom to shine into our hearts, and open the eyes of our minds to the understanding of all Thy revealed truth. Put into us the fear of Thy blessed commandments, that by subduing all fleshly lusts, we may make progress in spiritual life, both thinking and acting in all things according to Thy good pleasure. For Thou art the Enlightener of our soul and Saviour of our body, O Christ our

Lord; and to Thee we ascribe glory, with the Eternal Father, and with Thy most blessed quickening Spirit, now and for Amen.

evermore.

To be said by all present.

Our Father, which art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name: Thy kingdom come: Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive them that trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil; for Thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.

By the Heud alone.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Ghost, be with us all evermore. Amen.

SUNDAY EVENING.

AFTER READING THE SCRIPTURES.

Confession by all present.

ALMIGHTY God, Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Maker of all things and Judge of all men, we acknowledge and bewail our manifold sins and wickedness, which we, from time to time, most grievously have committed, by thought, word, and deed, against Thy divine Majesty, and especially during the past day, provoking most justly Thy wrath and indignation against us. We have not duly hearkened to the word of Thy salvation; we have resisted the motions of Thy Holy Spirit, and have lightly esteemed the precepts

and ordinances which Thou hast given for our perfection. We have not been unto all men the living epistle of Christ, but we have been ashamed of Thee. We do earnestly repent and are heartily sorry for these and all our misdoings; the remembrance of them is grievous unto us, the burden of them is intolerable. Have mercy upon us, most merciful Father; for Thy Son our Lord Jesus Christ's sake forgive us all that is past, and grant that we may ever hereafter serve Thee in newness of life, to the honour and glory of Thy name, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

To be said by the Head alone.

O Lord, we beseech Thee mercifully to hear our prayers, and spare all those who confess their sins unto Thee, that they whose consciences by sin are accused, by Thy merciful pardon may be absolved, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Grant, we beseech thee, Almighty God, that the words which we have heard this day in Thy house of prayer, with our outward ears, may, through Thy grace, be so grafted inwardly in our hearts, that they may bring forth in us the fruit of good living, to the honour and praise of Thy name, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Purify our reins and our hearts, O God, by the fire of Thy Holy Spirit; that we may henceforth serve Thee with chaste bodies, and please Thee with pure minds, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

O Lord our God, govern us, we beseech Thee, by Thine own Almighty power, in all things; be Thou long-suffering with all of us, and turn unto us according to our supplications: remember Thy tenderness and Thy mercy; visit us in Thy goodness, and grant us by Thy blessing to
