CHAPTER 2.

An Act respecting the Erection of New Parliament Buildings and Other Buildings for the Province.

[Assented to September 18th, 1914.]

HIS MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, enacts as

follows:

Loan up
$2,000,000.00

1. The Lieutenant-Governor-in-Council may raise, by not. way of loan, a sum not exceeding two millions of dollars, authorized. for the erection and completion of new Parliament buildings, in the City of Winnipeg, and other public buildings in the Province, with their equipment and appointments, and the provisions of "The Provincial Loans Act," chapter 156 of the Revised Statutes of Manitoba, A.D. 1913, shall apply to such loan.

2. This Act shall come into force on the day it is assented to.

CHAPTER 3.

An Act to amend "The Provincial Loans Act."

follows:

Sec. 4 of "The

Loans Act"

1. Section 4 of "The Provincial Loans Act," being Provincial chapter 156, Revised Statutes of Manitoba, 1914, is hereby amended. amended by adding thereto the following sub-section:

"(4) Previous to a sale of any part of such securities Securities the Lieutenant-Governor-in-Council may mortgage, pledge thecated, etc. or hypothecate the same and may from time to time renew the mortgage, pledge or hypothecation thereof."

2. This Act shall come into force on the day it is assented to.

CHAPTER 4.

An Act for granting to and raising and expending further sums of money for His Majesty, required for defraying certain expenses for the fiscal year ending the thirtieth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen.

WHEREAS it appears by Message from His Honour,

SIR DOUGLAS COLIN CAMERON, Knight Commander of the Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Lieutenant-Governor of the Province of Manitoba, and the Estimates accompanying the same, that the further sums hereinafter mentioned in the schedules to this Act are required to defray certain expenses of the Civil Government. of this Province, for the fiscal year ending on the thirtieth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and fourteen,

May it therefore please your Majesty that it may be enacted, and it is hereby enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, as follows:—

1. From and out of the Consolidated Revenue Fund of the Province of Manitoba there shall and may be raised and applied a further sum not exceeding in the whole the sum of two hundred and seven thousand dollars for defraying the expenses of legislation and contribution to the Imperial Government towards the expenses of the present war, which are set forth in schedules annexed to this Act.

2. Accounts in detail, of all moneys expended under the authority of this Act, shall be laid before the Legislative Assembly of this Province at the next session thereof.

3. The due application of moneys expended under the authority of this Act shall be accounted for in such manner and form as shall be directed.

4. This Act shall come into force on the day it is assented to.
