PREFACE

The reception accorded to Introduction to Shipbroking, and the expressed desire for a more comprehensive work on similar lines, have encouraged the authors to produce the present volume.

Effort has been made to give reliable information on the different branches of the subject, and it is hoped that the book will prove of value to the younger members of the shipping community, as well as of interest to all concerned in shipping business.

For the chapters on vessels and the legal chapters we are indebted to Messrs. J. L. Wallace and N. M. L. Walker, B.L. ; and we also acknowledge with thanks the assistance and information freely given to us by other friends in shipping circles.

CHARLES D. MACMURRAY.
MALCOLM M. CREE.
