CHAPTER 47.

An Act to amend "The Municipal Audit Act."

[Assented to March 15th, 1912.]

HIS MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, enacts as

follows:

1. Section 27 of chapter 37 of 7 and 8 Edward VII, Sec. 27 being "The Municipal Audit Act," is hereby amended by amended. striking out the word "rateably" and the words "equalized assessment" appearing in the sixth and eighth lines thereof respectively, and by adding after the word "of" in the eighth line thereof the words "the actual annual cost of audit in each municipality."

2. This Act shall come into force on the day it is assented to.

An Act to amend "The Municipal Boundaries Act."

HIS MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, enacts as fol

1. Section 70 of chapter 118 of the Revised Statutes of Manitoba, 1902, being "The Municipal Boundaries Act," is hereby repealed and the following substitued therefor:

BOULTON.

70. The Rural Municipality of Boulton shall comprise townships numbered twenty-two, twenty-three and twentyfour, in ranges numbered twenty-six and twenty-seven west.

2. Said Act is hereby further amended by adding the following section immediately after section 70, as enacted by this Act:

70A. The Rural Municipality of Hillsburg shall comprise townships numbered twenty-five, twenty-six, twenty-seven and twenty-eight in ranges numbered twenty-six and twenty

seven west.

3. The Rural Municipality of Hillsburg shall be deemed a municipality in the Northern Judicial District.

4. The Lieutenant-Governor-in-Council may by order-incouncil

(1) Specify the time for the holding of an election for reeve and councillors for the Rural Municipality of Hillsburg, created by this Act;

(2) Divide the said municipalities into suitable wards, if deemed necessary or expedient so to do;

(3) Declare the number of councillors to be elected for each of such wards;

(4) Appoint a returning officer to conduct the said election in the said municipality;

(5) Provide for the compilation of a voters' list to be used at the said election, and prescribe and determine who shall be qualified electors to vote at said election;

(6) Provide for all such other matters and things for the proper holding of the said election as may be deemed necessary and expedient.

5. Section 23 of the said Act, being "The Municipal secs. 23, 38 Boundaries Act," as enacted by section 4 of chapter 56 of 5 and 6 Edward VII, section 38 of said Act, and section 42 of said Act, as amended by chapter 30 of 3 Edward vii, are hereby amended by adding at the end thereof the words "except the Town of Transcona as incorporated."

6. This Act shall come into force on the proclamation of the Lieutenant-Governor-in-Council.

CHAPTER 49.

An Act to amend "The Municipal Boundaries Act.”

HIS

[Assented to April 6th, 1912.]

IS MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba, enacts as

follows:

1. Chapter 118 of the Revised Statutes of Manitoba, 1902, being "The Municipal Boundaries Act," is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section immediately after section 31 thereof, as re-enacted by chapter 37 of 1 George v:

ERICKSDALE.

31A. The Rural Municipality of Ericksdale shall comprise townships numbered twenty-one and twenty-two, whole or fractional, in ranges numbered four, five, six, seven and eight west of the principal meridian.

2. The foregoing described rural municipality shall be a rural municipality within the Eastern Judicial District.

3. The Lieutenant-Governor-in-Council may by order-in

council

(a) Specify the time for the holding of an election for first election. reeve and councillors for the said Rural Municipality of Ericksdale, created by this Act;

(b) Divide the municipality into wards and declare the number of councillors who shall be elected for each ward, according to the provisions of "The Municipal Act";

(c) Appoint a returning officer for the said municipality, to act at the first election of a reeve and councillors in the said municipality;

(d) Specify the date of holding the first election of a reeve and councillors in the said municipality, and provide for all necessary proceedings for the proper holding of such election;

(e) Provide who shall be qualified and entitled to vote at such election;

(f) Provide for all such other matters and things for the proper holding of the said election as may be deemed necessary or expedient.

4. Any indebtedness to the Municipal Commissioner by Payment of the former Municipality of Posen shall be paid by the said indebtedness. rural municipality created by this Act and the Rural Municipality of Coldwell. The respective shares of said municipalities in such indebtedness shall be determined by the said Municipal Commissioner.

5. This Act shall come into force on the proclamation of the Lieutenant-Governor-in-Council.
