in entering the "Order in present class" the numbers in each case follow in order of appoint ment, and the first number is the next consecutive number to the last on the Classified Roll. In schools with an average attendance above 240 pupils, junior teachers may be substituted for acting assistants and vice versâ, reckoning three junior teachers as being equivalent to two junior teachers acting as assistants, provided that where in the staff of a school there would be an uneven number of acting assistants one junior teacher acting as assistant may be regarded as equivalent to a junior teacher. In schools with an average attendance of from 50 to 80 pupils a junior teacher acting as assistant may be appointed in lieu of a junior teacher and sewing mistress, and in schools with an average attendance of from 200 to 240 pupils a junior teacher may be appointed in lieu of a junior teacher acting as assistant. In amalgamated schools, or in schools held in two buildings situated at a distance from one another, where the average attendance at the adjunct school exceeds 100 pupils an additional assistant may be appointed, and where the average attendance at the adjunct school is less than 100 an additional junior teacher may be appointed. Order in which teachers' names shall be arranged on the Transfer List for transfer in each class : First Division.-Teachers recorded upon their own application for transfer in the Second Division.-Teachers whose schools have been closed, and teachers and Third Division.—Teachers recorded for transfer in the same class in the public interest.
