WHEREAS application has been made to me, the undersigned, one of the justices of the peace for said county of Merrimack, by one sixth part of the legal voters in said town, to call a meeting of the inhabitants of said town to act upon the article hereinafter mentioned; and whereas it has been made to appear to me the said Justice, that the selectmen of said town, upon application to them duly made for the purpose, have neglected and refused to insert said article in the warrant for calling a meeting of said inhabitants by said selectmen, issued next after the said application to them.
