During that time a considerable number of cases have been decided both in England and in this Colony determining questions of practice in the County Court. The County Court Act, 1890, which this work deals with, is considerably more comprehensive than the Act of 1869, and consolidates the various Statutes relating to County Courts in the Colony. Further, the Rules of 1881 have been repealed and new Rules published of a far more extensive nature. These facts, it is submitted furnish ample justification for the publication of this book, which, it is hoped, will prove a handy and useful work for the profession. The author wishes to recognise the valuable assistance he has received from Mr. Rahilly, Clerk of Courts, Maryborough, who has prepared the elaborate index which appears at the end of this work. 1 |
