all our works, begun, continued, and ended in thee, we may glorify thy holy name, and finally by thy mercy obtain everlasting life, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

ALMIGHTY God, who knowest our frame,

and rememberest that we are dust, keep us by thy grace both outwardly in our bodies, and inwardly in our souls; that we, being defended from all evil accidents and all unholy thoughts, may evermore serve thee in tranquillity and joyfulness, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

HALLOWED Being, incomprehensible, unsearchable, to the eye invisible, by the ear unheard, but of whom the powers of thought and reason do secretly testify in our souls; O God, we acknowledge thee with mysterious wonder and solemn awe. Thou art the deep life, that liveth and moveth in every thing around us and within us. Thou art the Spirit that quickeneth the universe, and the Intelligence that guideth all nature. Thou art the eternal Fountain of existence, from which all the streams of created being have flowed, and do flow, continually. The laws of nature are thy will; and all changes

and effects are of thine operation. To thee nothing is unknown; and without thee nothing is done. In one glorious and harmonious system, in duration as in extension infinite, thou bindest together all that is; making all things work together for the fulfilment of thy designs. Thou art good even as thou art great. Thy ways declare that the tendency of thy providence is the universal happiness of thy creatures, and that justice and mercy are the everlasting foundations of thy throne. May all thy rational offspring acknowledge and adore thy divine majesty and goodness. May the whole universe become thy hallowed temple; and may the incense of grateful and solemn worship ascend unto thee continually from the altar of all hearts, in worlds without number, and through ages without end. Amen.

ALMIGHTY God, who by the resurrection of thy Son Jesus Christ hast opened to us the gate of everlasting life; we humbly beseech thee, that, as by thy divine grace thou dost put into our minds good desires, so by thy continual help we may bring the same to good effect, through Jesus Christ our Lord; and grant, we beseech thee, that

like as we do believe our Lord Jesus Christ to have ascended into the heavens, so may we also in heart and mind thither ascend, and with him continually dwell, who evermore liveth and reigneth with thee, the one only God, world without end. Amen.

Intercessory Prayer.

ALMIGHTY God, bless our native land. Have mercy on thy servant, VICTORIA our Queen. Protect her person; illuminate her understanding; and sanctify her heart; that above all things, she may seek thy glory, as appointed by thee for the terror of evildoers and the praise of them that do well, and that under her we may lead quiet and peaceable lives in all godliness and honesty.

Have mercy on all the Royal family, the lords of the Council, and the members of both Houses of Parliament; upon the Judges and other magistrates of this realm. Fill them with a solemn fear of thee, that they may be examples of piety and temperance, haters of injustice, covetousness and pride, maintainers of the right and defenders of innocence. Give to all churches, able, holy and faithful pastors, that they may soundly

and diligently preach thy word, and guide their flocks in the ways of uprightness and peace and may the people know those that are over them in the Lord, and esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. Direct and help by thy holy Spirit, all them that seek diligently for the truth, and whose hearts are fully set to bear and do thy righteous will. Amen.

Concluding Prayer.

ACCEPT, O merciful Lord, the praises and prayers which thy servants have now presented unto thee; and guide their feet into the paths of heavenly pleasantness and peace; that so, among all the changes and uncertainties of this mortal life, we may evermore have rest and assurance in thee, our heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Benediction.

THE grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the holy Spirit, be with us all evermore.

Amen.

SEVENTH SERVICE.

The People standing.

WHEREWITH shall we come before the

:

Lord, and bow ourselves before the high God? He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God? Micah, vi. 6, 8.

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. 1 John, ii. 15, 17.

Whoso offereth praise, glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright, will I shew the salvation of God. Psalm 1. 23.
