An Act to amend the "Horticultural Board Act."

IS MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of British Columbia, enacts as follows:

R. S. 1897, c. 94.

1. This Act may be cited as the "Horticultural Board Act. Short title. Amendment Act, 1909."

2. Section 2 of chapter 94 of the Revised Statutes, 1897, being Re-enacts s. 2. the "Horticultural Board Act," and amendments are hereby repealed, and the following section is substituted therefor:

Horticulture.

"2. There is hereby created a Provincial Board of Horticulture, Provincial Board of to consist of three ex-officio members, namely, the Minister of Agriculture, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture (who shall act as Secretary of the Board), the Chief Inspector of Fruit Pests (who shall act for the Province at large), and four members who shall be appointed by the Lieutenant-Governor in Council, one from each of the Horticultural Districts which are hereby created, to wit:"(1.) The first district shall comprise the Provincial Electoral Districts and portions of Provincial Electoral Districts embraced in Vancouver Island and the adjacent islands: "(2.) The second district shall comprise the portion of the Provincial Electoral District of Comox, situate on the mainland, the Provincial Electoral Districts of Richmond, Dewdney, Delta, Chilliwhack, Lillooet, Skeena and Cariboo, the City of Vancouver, and the City of New Westminster:

"(3.) The third district shall comprise the Provincial Electoral Districts of Kamloops, Yale, Similkameen and Okanagan :

"(4.) The fourth district shall comprise the Provincial Electoral Districts of Revelstoke, Columbia, Kaslo, Slocan, Greenwood, Grand Forks, Ymir, Cranbrook and Fernie, the City of Nelson, and the City of Rossland."

An Act to provide for the Inspection of Hospitals,
Orphanages, Sanitariums, Maternity Homes,
and places where Persons are undergoing
Medical or Health Treatment.

IS MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of British Columbia, enacts as follows:

1. This Act may be cited as the "Hospital Inspection Act."

Short title.

2. The Lieutenant-Governor in Council may from time to time, by Institutions that may be inspected. Order in Council, designate what institutions, being hospitals, orphanages, sanitariums, maternity homes or other institutions where persons are undergoing medical or health treament, whether public or private, requiring inspection are to be inspected by the Inspector or Inspectors, and may otherwise define the duties of the Inspector or Inspectors.

3. The Lieutenant-Governor in Council may appoint one or more Inspector. proper persons to be Inspectors under this Act: Provided always

that such Inspector shall be a duly qualified medical practitioner.

4. The Inspector shall from time to time visit and inspect every Duties of Inspector. such institution and make all proper inquiries as to the patients under treatment and their well-being generally, and upon all such matters he shall make report to the Lieutenant-Governor in Council.
