CHAPTER CIX.

An Act to secure the observance of the annual arbor day in schools.

State superintendent to prepare

circulars relative

to annual arbor

1. BE IT ENACTED by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey, That, in order to secure the co-operation of the schools in carrying into effect the day. provisions of the joint resolution relative to the annual arbor day, it shall be the duty of the state superintendent of public instruction to prepare and issue such circulars of information and instruction as may be necessary.

2. And be it enacted, That on said annual arbor day Exercises to be appropriate exercises shall be introduced in all the schools schools of the state, and that it shall be the duty of the several county and city superintendents to prepare a programme of the exercises used on such day in all the schools under their respective jurisdiction.

3. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect immediately.

CHAPTER CX.

An Act authorizing repairs to the state arsenal.

1. BE IT ENACTED by the Senate and General Assembly Appropriation of the State of New Jersey, That the sum of five thousand alterations at dollars be and the same is hereby appropriated for the purpose of making necessary repairs at the state arsenal, and such alterations as may be needed for the convenient transaction of business and proper storage for the mili

Cost of repairs, tary property of the state, the cost whereof is not to exceed five thousand dollars, which said repairs and alterations shall be made under the direction of the gov ernor and quartermaster-general, who are authorized to carry out the purposes of this act, and to contract for the making of such repairs and alterations in a manner to the best advantage to the state.

And be it enacted, That the comptroller of the treasury is hereby authorized to draw his warrants for the bills of labor, materials and all other expenses incurred under the provisions of this act; provided, the said bills are certified to by the governor and quartermaster-general. 3. CHAPTER CXI.

A Supplement to an act entitled "An act to establish a bureau of statistics upon the subject of labor, considered in its relation to the growth and development of the state industries."

1. BE IT ENACTED, by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey, That the sum of three thousand dollars be and is hereby appropriated for the current expenses of said bureau.

2. And be it enacted, That the treasurer of this state is hereby authorized to pay, from any money not otherwise appropriated, the sum provided for in the first section of this act.

3. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect immediately.

CHAPTER CXII.

An Act providing for the support of the state industrial school for girls.

CHAPTER CXIII.

An Act to provide for a standard time in the state of
New Jersey.

1. BE IT ENACTED by the Senate and General Assembly of Standard time. the State of New Jersey, That the standard time of the state of New Jersey shall be the time of the seventy-fifth meridian west from Greenwich, and that the time named in any of the statutes of this state and in public proclamations, in the rules and orders of the senate and general assembly, in the decrees and orders of the courts and in all notices and advertisements in any legal proceedings, shall be deemed and taken to be the standard time aforesaid.

Fish wardens empowered to enforce game laws on Sunday

CHAPTER CXIV.

AN ACT to empower fish wardens to enforce game laws.

1. An Act to authorize the sale and conveyance or lease of certain lands of the state of New Jersey, in the borough of Chambersburg, and county of Mercer.
