RULES OF THE

PAROCHIAL

LENDING LIBRARY.

Under the superintendence of

1. THE Library to be open for issuing and receiving of books every Saturday, from two till four o'clock in the afternoon; and an account kept of each book delivered and received by the librarian.

2. Every book to be numbered, and marked with the time allowed for reading.

3. Every member to pay 2d. on entering, and to continue to pay 1d. per month; and not to be entitled to any books until the monthly penny is paid.

4. Every member shall forfeit 1d. for keeping a book longer than the time allowed.

5. Every member who lends a book to a person who is not a member, shall forfeit 2d. for each offence.

6. Every member who damages or tears a book shall pay for it accordingly.

7. Every member who loses a book shall pay for it at his own expense.

8. Subscriptions to be paid on the first Saturday in every month. The money, together with that received for forfeits, to be applied in purchasing new books, which shall be bought by the superintendent twice a-year.

Librarian.

RULES FOR A DISPENSARY*.

1. Every subscriber to this Institution, of half-a-guinea or upwards, shall be entitled to recommend patients; but no recommendation shall entitle the patient to relief for more than twelve months. That the following recommendation be printed for the use of the subscribers.

2. A general meeting of the subscribers shall be held on the first Tuesday in January every year, at which meeting a committee shall be elected.

3. The committee shall consist of the physicians, surgeons, treasurer, and eight subscribers, four of whom shall be elected every year to serve two years, and one of the old members shall be the president.

4. The committee shall meet at the Dispensary on the first Tuesday in the months of April, July, October, and January, at eleven o'clock in the forenoon.

5. The committee are empowered to make such regulations as they may think conducive to the benefit of the Dispensary.

6. The committee to have the power of electing the physician, surgeons, and apothecary, of dismissing the apothecary in case of misconduct, of fixing his salary, and of allowing or withholding an additional gratuity.

7. The president is empowered to summon an extraordinary meeting of the committee when necessary: he shall observe that minutes of the proceedings of the general quarterly or occasional meetings be regularly and accurately made: in case of an equal
