[Assented to January 11, 1913.) IS Majesty by and with the advice and consent of the 1. This Act may be cited as "The Wolf Bounty Act." INTERPRETATION. 2. In this Act unless the context otherwise requires the expression: 1. "Minister" means the minister of agriculture for Saskatchewan; 2. "Local improvement district" means a district as constituted under the provisions of The Local Improvements Act of 1912-13. 3. "Bounty certificate" means a certificate issued under the provisions of this Act entitling the holder to one dollar for having killed a prairie wolf or ten dollars for a timber wolf; 4. "Prairie wolf" means the coyote or the brush wolf; 5. "Timber wolf" means the large wolf known also as the gray wolf; 6. "Wolf pup" means the immature young of the prairie or timber wolf up to the first of July in any year. 3. Every rural municipality shall be deemed to be a wolf bounty district within the meaning of this Act, on from and after the date of the passing of this Act. 4. Any local improvement district or any portion thereof may at the termination of sixty days from the date of the notice of the intention to do so which shall be made public by publication in The Saskatchewan Gazette and by posting in post offices of the district be declared a wolf bounty district by order of the Lieutenant Governor in Council. 1907, c. 28, s. 4. Any person having killed a wolf within a wolf bounty district may receive a certificate which will entitle him to the bounty therefor by displaying the pelt with ears attached for examination before an inspector of wolf pelts and making before an inspector the necessary affidavit as required in form A of the schedule hereto. 1907, c. 28, s. 10. The agreement bearing date the sixth day of December, 1912, and made and entered into between His Majesty the King in right of the Province of Saskatchewan represented and acting by the Honourable George A. Bell, provincial treasurer of the said province, therein called "the government," of the one part, and the Saskatchewan Co-operative Elevator Company, Limited, therein called "the company" of the other part, which agreement is set out in schedule A appended to this Act, is hereby ratified and confirmed and is declared to have been made, entered into and executed by the several parties thereto by and with full authority to make, enter into and execute the same on behalf of the government and of the company aforesaid respectively and to be binding upon the parties thereto, who are hereby authorised and empowered and declared always to have had power to do and execute all acts, deeds and things necessary to give full effect to the same. 2. Notwithstanding anything contained in a certain agreement between the said parties bearing date the twenty-sixth day of August, 1911, and set forth in and duly ratified and confirmed by an Act of the Legislature of Saskatchewan, being chapter 41 of the Statutes of 1912 and notwithstanding anything heretofore enacted or the absence of any authority other than this Act, the company shall have power and it is hereby declared to always have had power to execute and give to the government in lieu of the securities provided in the said agreement, securities in accordance with the provisions of the agreement of which a copy is hereto appended as schedule A and all mortgages given or to be given by the company thereunder are hereby declared to be and shall be valid securities in the hands of the government as against all property therein mentioned and mortgaged and as against the company, its successors and assigns for the due payment of |
