CHAPTER 17

An Act to amend An Act respecting Confirmation of
Sales of Land for Taxes.

IS Majesty by and with the advice and consent of the
Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan enacts as follows:

1. Subsection (1) of section 2 of the Revised Statutes respecting the Confirmation of Sales of Land for Taxes is amended by adding thereto the following proviso:

"Provided however that notice of such application shall in every case be given to the treasurer or secretary treasurer, as the case may be, of the city, town, village or school district from which the land was purchased."

2. The said Act is further amended by adding thereto the following section as section 7 thereof:

"7. No application for an order for the confirmation of tion for order any sale of land for taxes shall, in cases where such sale was made prior to the first day of January, 1913, be made or heard unless such application is made within two years after the said first day of January, 1913.

"(2) No application for an order for the confirmation of any sale of land for taxes shall, in cases where such sale is made after the first day of January, 1913, be made or heard unless such application is made within two years after the date of such sale.

"(3) The provisions of this section shall not apply to sales of land for taxes heretofore or hereafter made by any school district under the provisions of The School Assessment Act."

CHAPTER 18

An Act to amend An Act to Prevent the Employment of Female Labour in Certain Capacities.

JIS Majesty by and with the advice and consent of the
Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan enacts as follows:

1. Section 1 of chapter 17 of the Acts of 1912, intituled 1912, c. 17, s. 1, "An Act to Prevent the Employment of Female Labour in Certain Capacities," is amended by striking out the word "Japanese" where it occurs therein and further by striking out the words "or other Oriental person" where they occur therein.

(2). The said Act shall be construed as though the said words so struck out by subsection (1) hereof had never been contained therein.

CHAPTER 19

An Act to amend The Assignments Act.

[Assented to January 11, 1913.]

[IS Majesty by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan enacts as follows:

1. Section 2 of The Assignments Act is amended by adding thereto the following paragraph:

"3. 'Assignee' means a trust company qualified to act as such assignee under this Act."

2. Sections 3, 4 and 5 of the said Act are repealed and the following section is substituted therefor:

"3. Any trust company authorised to carry on business as such in Saskatchewan may act as an assignee for the purposes of this Act:

"Provided that such company shall have first been empowered by order in council so to act."

3. Section 6 of the said Act is amended by striking out the words "an official assignee" in the fourth line thereof and substituting therefor the words "a trust company authorised to act as assignee under this Act."

4. Section 14 of the said Act is amended by striking out the words “a regular" in the first line thereof and substituting therefor the words "the first convenient."

5. Section 58 of the said Act is amended by adding at the end thereof the words "except under the authority of a resolution of a majority of the creditors present at a lawfully convened - meeting thereof or of any order of a judge.”

6. The said Act is further amended by striking out the word "official" wherever it appears immediately before the word "assignee" in the said Act.

7. The Lieutenant Governor in Council shall proclaim the date of the coming into force of this Act.

CHAPTER 20

An Act to amend The Judicature Act.

IS Majesty by and with the advice and consent of the
Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan enacts as follows:

1. Section 5 of The Judicature Act is amended by striking R.S.S. 1909, out the word "four" where it occurs therein and substituting amended.' therefor the word "five."

2. Section 26 of the said Act is amended by striking out the word "three" where it occurs therein and substituting therefor the word "four."

3. This Act shall come into force upon proclamation of the CommenceLieutenant Governor in Council.
