In 1867 some translations by myself and two friends were published under the title Hesperidum Susurri; and in 1869 I set on foot a terminal College magazine, called Kottabos, in which translations into Greek and Latin appeared, together with original English, Greek, and Latin verses, translations from ancient and modern languages, and a few light essays in prose. Most of the translations now brought together have already appeared in Hesperidum Susurri and Kottabos. They are all by Dublin men.
