97. 100. Notice of the suspension or cancelling of any license, or prohibition from doing any further business, shall be published in The Alberta Gazette; and thereafter any person transacting any business in behalf of the company, except for winding up its affairs pursuant to this or any other Act, shall be deemed to have been guilty of an offence punishable on summary conviction before any justice of the peace by a fine not exceeding $25.00.

101. Wherever the affairs of any insurance company doing business in Alberta appear to require the same, the superinof Lieutenant tendent, with the approval of the Lieutenant Governor in Council, may, at the expense of the company, have abstracts prepared of its books and vouchers and a valuation made of the assets and liabilities; and the certificate of the superintendent, approved of by the Treasurer, shall be conclusive as to the expenses to be paid by the company in respect thereof.

102. Neither the superintendent, nor any officer under him, shall be interested as a shareholder, directly or indirectly, in any insurance company.

103. All sums payable under this Act to the Treasurer shall be so paid before the issue of a renewal of the license, and, in any disputed case, the Treasurer's certificate, or approval of an account certified by the superintendent, shall, as to the amount so payable by each or any company, be held to be conclusive.

105. No dividend shall be paid by any such company while its paid up capital is impaired or while its assets are less than the amount required by the next preceding section, nor shall any dividend be paid which would reduce its assets below the said amount or impair its capital.

106. 107. If at any time it be found that the assets of any such company are less than the amount required by section 104, cent. too low by an amount equal to twenty per cent. or more of the total cancelled amount of the said unearned premiums, calculated as afore- Minister said, or that the company has paid any dividends in contravention of section 105, it shall be the duty of the Treasurer to report the same to the Lieutenant Governor in Council. whereupon the company's license shall be cancelled by order of the Lieutenant Governor in Council.

108. Chapter 7 of 23, George V, intituled The Hail Insurance Act, is hereby repealed.

109. This Act shall come into force on the first day of July, 1913.

CHAPTER 17.

An Act for the Protection of Wages to Threshing Machine

HIS MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Alberta, enacts as follows:

SHORT TITLE.

1. This Act may be cited as "The Thresher Employees Short title Lien Act."

INTERPRETATION.

2. In this Act unless the context otherwise requires

1. "Employer" includes any person or body of persons Employer corporate or unincorporate with whom an employee as defined by this Act has entered into a contract of service whether such employer is the owner, lessee or bailee of the threshing machine on or about which such contract of service is performed;

2. "Employee" includes every person who is engaged in an employment of threshing on or about any threshing machine and means any person who has entered into or works under a contract of service with an employer as defined by this Act whether the contract is expressed or implied, is oral or in writing;

3. "Court" means the District Court of the judicial Court district within which the threshing or some part thereof has been performed; and "judge" means the judge of the said court.
