BULLETIN

OF THE

Nuttall Ornithological Club:

A QUARTERLY JOURNAL OF ORNITHOLOGY.

SIXTH YEAR OF PUBLICATION.

Five Annual Volumes are completed, and the Bulletin enters upon its sixth year of publication, with every prospect of success, under the same management, with a steadily increasing corps of contributors and list of subscribers, showing that it meets a real want.

This BULLETIN is the only periodical publication in America devoted to

GENERAL ORNITHOLOGY.

All the leading ornithologists of this country, and nearly all others who are actively interested in the progress of the science, are regular contributors to its pages.

Though intended primarily as the medium of communication between working ornithologists, and consequently maintaining a high technical character, it aims to be entertaining as well as instructive, and contains a fair proportion of sufficiently popular matter to suit all those who are interested in Birds. It will be mainly devoted, as heretofore, to the Ornithology of North America. Being a general

MAGAZINE OF ORNITHOLOGY,

its review department promptly gives critical notices, not only of all American works and papers, but of the more inportant publications relating to Ornithology at large; while its department of General Notes is rich in the experiences of the working ornithologists of this country. Consequently,

THE BULLETIN IS INDISPENSABLE

to every one wishing to keep pace with the progress of the science, and receive the Latest and Fullest Intelligence.

As heretofore, the Editorial Supervision is in charge of

MR. J. A. ALLEN,

Assisted by PROF. S. F. BAIRD and DR. ELLIOTT COUES.

TERMS.-82.00 a year, including postage; strictly in advance. Back volumes at the same price. Single numbers, 50 cents.

It is intended to further enlarge the Bulletin (already once doubled in size), when such course is justified by the subscription list; and every ornithologist should interest himself to extend its circulation.

Remittances by mail will be at the risk of the sender, unless sent as a postal order or draft on Boston or New York. Address all remittances to

CHARLES F. BATCHELDER, Cambridge, Mass. Foreign Subscribers may obtain the BULLETIN through J. VAN VOORST & CO., 1 PATERNOSTER ROW, LONDON.

ADVERTISING RATES.- First insertion, 30 cents a line (Bourgeois), or $12.00 per page; $6.50 per half-page. A discount of twenty-five per cent will be made for each subsequent insertion.

Communications intended for publication should be sent to J. A. ALLEN, Museum of Comparative Zoölogy, Cambridge, Mass.

They should reach the Editor by the first of the month preceding the date of the publication of the Number in which they are desired to appear.
