CHAPTER 5.

An Act to amend "The Cemeteries
Incorporation Act."

[Assented to July 5th, 1900.]

ER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Manitoba, enacts as follows:

1. Chapter 16 of the Revised Statutes of Manitoba is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section :

32. Any Cemetery Company heretofore or hereafter formed. in Manitoba may erect within the bounds of the Cemetery a borrow money chapel and vault or vault alone to be used as a repository for the dead during the winter months and for such purpose may mortgage or otherwise charge the property of such Cemetery Company, and may give promissory notes and assign and hypothecate all or any of the receipts, revenues, income or assets of the Company as security for the repayment of such loan, which loan may be repayable and be on such terms as the Directors may arrange. Provided that such building shall be of stone or brick or part stone and part brick, and all vault doors shall be of iron or wood encased in iron sheeting, and all vault windows or other openings in the vault shall be protected by iron sheeted shutters and there shall be no open connections between the vault and the chapel except underneath the floor for reception of the coffin.

An Act respecting the Children's Aid Society of

ER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Manitoba, enacts as follows:

1. The Children's Aid Society of Winnipeg is hereby Society declared to be and to have been since the 27th day of August, have been A.D. 1898, a Society duly incorporated under the provisions porated since of the Charitable Associations Act, Chapter 17 of the Revised 27th August, Statutes of Manitoba, and amendments thereto, with all the Charitable powers, rights and liabilities conferred upon Societies under Act. said Act and amending Acts and the filing of the declaration of association of said Society in the office of the Prothonotary of the Court of Queen's Bench for Manitoba on said date is hereby declared to have been a sufficient filing under and a sufficient compliance with the provisions of said Act and amending Acts and to have the same force and effect as if said declaration and other necessary documents had been filed in the office of the Provincial Secretary and as if, by letters patent under the great seal of the Province, a charter under the provisions of said Act and amending Acts had been granted to the persons having signed such declaration as aforesaid constituting them and others who might afterwards become members of the corporation a body corporate and politic as provided by said Act and amending Acts; and the actirns of the board of directors of said Society since said date are hereby legalized and confirmed.

CHAPTER 7.

An Act to amend "The Surrogate Courts Act."

ER MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Manitoba, enacts as follows:

1. Section 77 of Chapter 37 of the Revised Statutes of Manitoba, being "The Surrogate Courts Act," as re-enacted by Chapter 9 of the Statutes passed in the year 1899, is hereby amended by adding thereto the following sub-section :

An Act to amend "The Dairy Factories
Incorporation Act."

1. Section 9 of Chapter 41 of the Revised Statutes of 9, amended Manitoba is hereby amended by inserting therein after the words "such meeting," in the fifth line thereof, the words "or any subsequent meeting."
