Vic., c. 11, and for the registration of marriages by the Act 7 & 8 Vic., c. 81 (as amended by the 26 & 27 Vic., c. 27, and the 33 & 34 Vic., c. 110), and by the Act 26 & 27 Vic., c. 90.

The 7 & 8 Vic., c. 81, provides for the registration of all marriages except "any marriages by any Roman Catholic Priest which may now be lawfully celebrated."

The 26 & 27 Vic., c. 90, provides for the registration of such marriages as are not within the provisions of the 7 & 8 Vic., c. 81.

The 7 & 8 Vic., c. 81, is not in any way connected with the poor law, nor have poor law officers, as such, any function assigned to them under it, and it has therefore been thought unnecessary to include any statement of its provisions in this publication; but as both the 26 & 27 Vic., c. 90, and "The Act for registering Births and Deaths" (26 Vic., c. 11), contain various provisions which affect Boards of Guardians or their officers, those Acts are inserted at full length.
