4 Save us, in thy great compassion,
Oh thou Prince of peace and love!
Give the knowledge of salvation,
Fix our hearts on things above.
5 By thine all-sufficient merit,
Every burdened soul release;
Every weary, wandering spirit
Guide into thy perfect peace.

[blocks in formation]

Pearl of great Price.

YE glittering toys of earth, adieu,
A nobler choice be mine;
A real prize attracts my view-
A treasure all divine.

2 Begone, unworthy of my cares,
Ye flattering baits of sense;
Inestimable worth appears,

The pearl of price immense!

3 Should earth's vain treasures all depart, Of this dear gift possessed,

I'd clasp it to my joyful heart,
And be forever blest.

4 Dear Sovereign of my soul's desires,
Thy love is bliss divine;

Accept the praise that grace inspires,
Since I can call thee mine.

Christ a Refuge.

JESUS, Saviour of my soul,
Let me to thy bosom fly,
While the raging billows roll,
While the tempest still is high:

All my trust on thee is stayed;
All my help from thee I bring:
Cover my defenceless head

With the shadow of thy wing.
2 Other refuge have I none-
Helpless hangs my soul on thee:
Leave, oh! leave me not alone!
Still support and comfort me.
Hide me, O my Saviour! hide,
Till the storm of life be past;
Safe into the haven guide;
Oh receive my soul at last!

Christ the Way, Truth, and Life.

THOU art the WAY-to thee alone
From sin and death we flee;
And he who would the Father seek,
Must seek him, Lord, by thee.

2 Thou art the TRUTH-thy word alone
True wisdom can impart;

Thou only canst inform the mind,
And purify the heart.

3 Thou art the LIFE-the rending tomb
Proclaims thy conquering arm,

And those who put their trust in thee
Nor death, nor hell shall harm.

4 Thou art the WAY-the TRUTH-the LIFE; Grant us that way to know,

That TRUTH to keep that LIFE to win,
Whose joys eternal flow.

JESUS, my truth, my way,
My sure, unerring light,

On thee my feeble soul I stay,
Which thou wilt lead aright.
2 My wisdom, and my guide,
My counsellor thou art;

Oh never let me leave thy side,
Or from thy paths depart!

Resurrection of Christ.

ANGELS! roll the rock away! Death! yield up thy mighty prey! See! he rises from the tomb, Rises with immortal bloom. 2 "Tis the Saviour-seraphs, raise Your triumphant shouts of praise; Let the earth's remotest bound Hear the joy-inspiring sound. 3 Lift, ye saints-lift up your eyes! Now to glory see him rise! Hosts of angels on the road Hail and sing th' incarnate God. Heaven unfolds its portals wide: Gracious Conqueror, through them ride, King of glory! mount thy throne, Boundless empire is thine own. 5 Praise him, all ye heavenly choirs, Praise, and sweep your golden lyres; Praise him in the noblest songs, Praise him from ten thousand tongues.

Christ, the Lamb, enthroned and worshipped. HARK, ten thousand harps and voices Sound the note of praise aboveJesus reigns, and heaven rejoices;

Jesus reigns the God of love: See, he sits on yonder throne; Jesus rules the world alone.

2 Jesus, hail! whose glory brightens All above, and gives it worth; Lord of life-thy smile enlightens,

Cheers, and charms thy saints on earth: When we think of love like thine,

Lord, we own it love divine.

3 King of glory, reign forever— Thine an everlasting crown: Nothing from thy love shall sever

Those whom thou hast made thine own; Happy objects of thy grace,

Destined to behold thy face.

4 Saviour, hasten thine appearing; Bring-oh bring the glorious day, When, the awful summons hearing, Heaven and earth shall pass away: Then with golden harps, we'll sing"Glory, glory to our King."

Es & 7s.

Worthy is the Lamb.

HARK the notes of angels singing-
"Glory, glory to the Lamb!"
All in heaven their tribute bringing,
Raising high the Saviour's name.
2 Ye, for whom his life was given,
Sacred themes to you belong:
Come, assist the choir of heaven
Join the everlasting song.

3 Filled with holy emulation,

Let us vie with those above:

Sweet the theme-a free salvation!
Fruit of everlasting love.

4 Endless life in him possessing,

Let us praise his precious name:
Glory, honor, power, and blessing,
Be forever to the Lamb.

Christ exalted to be a Prince and Saviour. EXALTED Prince of Life! we own The royal honors of thy throne: "Tis fixed by God's almighty hand, And seraphs bow at thy command. 2 Exalted Saviour! we confess The sovereign triumphs of thy grace; Wide may thy cross thy virtues prove, And conquer millions by thy love.

Christ crowned as Lord of All.

ALL hail, the great Immanuel's name!
Let angels prostrate fall:
Bring forth the royal diadem,

And crown him LORD OF ALL.

2 Crown him, ye martyrs of our God, Who from his altar call;

Praise him, who shed for you his blood,
And crown him LORD OF ALL.

3 Ye chosen seed of Israel's race,
A remnant weak and small,
Hail him, who saves you by his grace,
And crown him LORD OF ALL.

4 Ye gentile sinners, ne'er forget
The wormwood and the gall;
