MINISTRY OF HEALTH, Whitehall, London, S.W. 1. 24th October, 1925. PUBLIC HEALTH (IMPORTED FOOD) REGULATIONS, 1925. SIR, I am directed by the Minister of Health to state that on consideration of communications received through the Foreign Office from the Netherlands Government, he has decided to recognise a label issued by that Government as an Official Certificate for the purposes of item (b) of the Second Schedule to the Public Healths (Imported Food) Regulations, i.e., lard, dripping, edible tallow and similar rendered fats. The Minister has also at the request of the Italian Government decided to recognise a label issued by that Government as an Official Certificate for the same purposes in substitution for the label of which particulars were given in Part IV of the Second Schedule to the Notice inserted in the London Gazette of the 22nd May last, and reproduced in the Appendix to Circular 599. The Minister has accordingly caused to be published in the London Gazette of 9th October, 1925, a Notice containing in the Schedule descriptions of the two new labels. Cross Assistant Secretary. APPENDIX. Notice inserted in the London Gazette of 9th October, 1925. NOTICE. PUBLIC HEALTH (IMPORTED FOOD) REGULATIONS, 1925.. The Minister of Health gives notice, in pursuance of the above named Regulations, that he hereby recognises for the purposes of item (b) of the Second Schedule to the Regulations, i.e., Lard, dripping, edible tallow and similar rendered fats, each of the Official Certificates of which particulars are given in the Schedule hereto as evidence that the meat to which it relates has been derived from an animal which was free from disease at the time of slaughter and has been dressed or prepared and packed with all necessary precautions for the prevention of danger to public health. The recognition applies only if the label is securely affixed to the package containing the meat, and if the label has not in any other circumstances or on any other occasion been used as an Official Certificate. The label hereby recognised as an Official Certificate for meat imported from ITALY is in substitution for the label of which particulars were given in Part IV of the Second Schedule to the Notice published in the London Gazette of 22nd May, 1925. ANIMAL. Diseases of Animals. THE FOOT-AND-MOUTH DISEASE (INFECTED AREAS RESTRICTIONS) ORDER OF 1925. DATED JULY 24, 1925. (3991) The Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, by virtue and in exercise of the powers vested in him under the Diseases of Animals Acts, 1894 to 1925, and of every other power enabling him in this behalf, hereby orders as follows: Meaning of Terms. 1.-(1) In this Order : The Act of 1894 ' 1894. (a) means the Diseases of Animals Act, The Minister" and The Ministry" mean the Minister and the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries respectively. "Infected Area " means an Area declared by an Order of the Minister to be a Foot-and-Mouth Disease Infected Area for the purposes of this Order. Any farm, holding, park or enclosure (excluding any detached part) partly within and partly outside an Infected Area, shall be deemed to be wholly within the Area. "Animals" means cattle, sheep, goats, pigs or deer. 'Carcase" means the undressed carcase of an animal and includes a part of such carcase. "Slaughterhouse" means premises used habitually and solely for the purpose of slaughtering animals, but does not include (1) a slaughterhouse which forms part of a farm, or (2) any premises on which animals other than those intended for immediate slaughter are kept. "Hunting" means the use of hounds, beagles, or other dogs, for the purpose of hunting or coursing any deer, fox, otter, hare, or rabbit, or for hunting any drag trail. Infected Place means a place declared under any Order of the Minister to be a place infected with Foot-and (a) 57-8 V. c. 57. |
