(2) For the purposes of this Order contiguous premises which are in the same occupation shall be regarded as one premises.

(3) The provisions of this Order as to keeping the prescribed record shall not apply (a) to any person moving or permitting the movement of an animal to or from any lair authorised by the Local Authority for use for the temporary detention of imported animals under and in accordance with the provisions of the Importation of Animals Act, 1922 (Session 2), (a) or any Order of the Minister thereunder, or for the detention of fat swine imported under and in accordance with the provisions of the Animals (Landing from Ireland, Channel Islands and Isle of Man) Order of 1923, (b) or any Order amending the same; or to or from an imported animals wharf or approved landing place; (b) to any person whilst acting as a market authority or as an auctioneer at any market, sale yard, fair ground or other premises, or to a person responsible for holding any exhibition of animals; or (c) to any Railway Company moving or permitting the movement of any animal to or from a railway station for transit.

Provisions as to Form of Record.

2. (1) Every entry in a record shall be made in ink or indelible pencil within thirty-six hours after the movement of the animal required by this Order to be entered therein.

(2) Every record required by this Order to be kept by any person shall be retained by him for a period of twelve months from the date thereof, and shall be produced by him for inspection at all reasonable times on demand to any Inspector of the Ministry or of a Local Authority, and the Inspector shall be entitled to make copies of any entries therein.

(3) A Local Authority may supply forms of record for the purposes of this Order to any person in the District of the Local Authority.

Revocation.

3. Article 12 (1) (f) of the Sheep Scab Order of 1920, (c) as substituted by the Sheep Scab (Amendment) Order of 1923 (d) is hereby revoked, and any Regulation made thereunder requiring the keeping of registers by sheep dealers shall cease to have effect.

Local Authority to enforce Order.

4. The provisions of this Order shall be executed and enforced by the Local Authority.

Offences.

5. If any person required by this Order to keep a record fails to keep the same or omits from a record any of the particulars required by this Order to be entered therein, or makes any false entry therein or fails to produce a record for inspection on demand under this Order, he shall be deemed guilty of an offence against the Diseases of Animals Act, 1894. (a)

Animal means cattle, sheep, goat or pig.

Person" includes a body corporate or unincorporate. "Premises" includes land with or without buildings and also any market, saleyard, fair ground, place of exhibition or lair.

Other terms have the same meaning as in the Act of 1894.

Commencement.

7. This Order shall come into operation on the first day of February, nineteen hundred and twenty-six.

Short Title.

8. This Order may be cited as the Movement of Animals (Records) Order of 1925.

EDUCATION, ENGLAND AND WALES. Compulsory Purchase of Land.

THE BOARD OF EDUCATION (COMPULSORY PURCHASE) REGULATIONS, 1925, DATED DECEMBER 7, 1925, MADE BY THE BOARD OF EDUCATION UNDER SECTION 111 OF THE EDUCATION ACT, 1921 (11 & 12 GEO. 5. c. 51) AND SECTION 6 OF THE PUBLIC LIBRARIES ACT, 1919 (9 & 10 GEO. 5. c. 93).

The Board of Education hereby make the following Regulations :

ARTICLE 1.-These Regulations may be cited as the Board of Education (Compulsory Purchase) Regulations, 1925.

ARTICLE 2.-The Education (Compulsory Purchase) Regulations, 1919, (a) made by the Board of Education on the 18th November, 1919, are hereby revoked.

ARTICLE 3.-An Order made by a Local. Education Authority under Section 111 of the Education Act, 1921 (hereinafter referred to as "the Compulsory Order ") shall be in the form set forth in the Schedule hereto, or in a form to the like effect.

ARTICLE 4. (1) Before submitting the Compulsory Order to the Board for confirmation, the Local Education Authority shall cause the same to be published by advertisement in two successive weeks in one or more of the local newspapers circulating in the area of the Local Education Authority and in the parish or parishes in which the land to which the Compulsory Order relates is situated.

(2) The advertisements shall be headed respectively Advertisement " and " Second and Last Advertisement," and the first of the said advertisements shall be published not later than one calendar month after the making of the Compulsory Order. (3) Each of the said advertisements shall contain in addition to a copy of the Compulsory Order a notice setting out the following particulars :

(a) a statement that any objection to the Compulsory Order must be presented to the Board of Education within the period of one calendar month from and after the date of the publication of the second and last advertisement and

(b) a statement of the period, times, and place or places during and at which the deposited plan referred to in the Schedule to the Compulsory Order may be inspected by or on behalf of any person interested in the land to which the Compulsory Order relates.

(4) The plan referred to in the Schedule to the Compulsory Order shall be deposited by the Local Education Authority not later than the date of publication of the first advertisement at a place convenient for the purposes of inspection, and shall be kept deposited thereat till the expiration of a period not being less than one calendar month from the date of the publication of the second and last advertisement; and the said plan shall be open for inspection by any person interested or affected, without payment of any fee, at all reasonable hours on any week-day during the said period. The Local Education Authority shall also make suitable provision for affording to any such person inspecting the said plan any necessary explanation or information in regard thereto.

ARTICLE 5.-(1) The Local Education Authority shall, not later than the date of publication of the first advertisement, cause notice of the Compulsory Order to be given to every owner, lessee, and occupier of the land to which the Compulsory Order relates, and every such notice shall include a copy of the Compulsory Order, to which shall be appended a notice containing the particulars mentioned in paragraph (3) of Article 4 of these Regulations.

(2) The Local Education Authority shall furnish a copy of the Compulsory Order, free of charge, to any person interested in the land to which the Compulsory Order relates, upon his applying for the same.

ARTICLE 6.-The period within which an objection to a Compulsory Order may be presented to the Board of Education by a person interested in the land to which the Compulsory Order relates shall be the period of one calendar month from and after the date of the publication of the second and last advertisement of the Compulsory Order.

ARTICLE 7.-(1) The Local Education Authority shall as soon as practicable after the confirmation of the Compulsory Order cause a copy of the Compulsory Order as confirmed to be served on every owner, lessee, and occupier of the land to which the Compulsory Order relates.

(2) A copy of the Compulsory Order as confirmed shall be furnished free of charge by the Local Education Authority to any person interested in the land authorised to be purchased upon his applying for the same, and a copy of any plan to which reference is made in the Compulsory Order as confirmed shall also be furnished by the Local Education Authority to any such person upon his applying for such copy and paying the reasonable cost of preparing the same.
